Ditched the P365. Back to the Shield 45!

All of you that tout pocket carry, do you mean coat pocket or pants pocket? Anything big enough to fight with for me, I can't get out of my jeans pocket very quickly vs IWB of anything else.

Many people, I see it here on the forum all the time, assume that since you want more than 5-7 rds you’re in the “spray and pray” category.

If I can double my carry load in the same size package why is that something bad?

I agree but I will say that shooting a handgun with only 5-6rds, horribly slow reload, does change how one shoots. There are no throw away shots, no makeup shots, every shot must land lest you run out of ammo. Even then, 5rds that fail to solve the problem makes the problem a lot bigger.

I mean front right pants pocket carry in a Remora holster, but understand that I live in Florida and jeans are too hot to comfortably wear here much of the year. Also, I'm retired and wear shorts most of the time. My pockets are just large enough to get a purchase on my 365 with my hand while still in my pocket..I OWB carry during our 2-3 cooler months. Works for me...YMMV

For me it's perfect in the strong side, top or bottom pocket of cargo jeans or shorts.

But, like anything else on the Net, bad news is repeated over and over and over again ad nauseum while the great reports get poo-pooed and sidelined. Folks always want the bad stuff; whether it is rubbernecking at an accident or watching the news.

I own a 365 and find it to be a lot of bang in a small package. I find mine to be really accurate for such a small piece.

I still carry a J frame because that is what I am most comfortable with, but that is no fault of the SIG.

For every Jack there is a Jill.

I don't understand why people come on gun forums that are brand specific, like this one, and tout some other brand, make and model as being the greatest thing since sliced bread, the Holy Grail of guns that they've always been searching for all their lives.

I get it, I understand, but wouldn't a general gun forum or the brand specific forum of said Holy Grail gun be a better place to talk up a competitor? I'm happy that you've finally found the perfect pistol which isn't a S&W but then I must ask, why are you here?

Ironically, the most complaints I've heard about the P365 have been on the Sig forum from Sig fans themselves. Go figure.

Well when someone says they ditched a gun for whatever reason what would you expect? It’s called discussion as I hear.
It’s been that way for my 14 years on this forum.

Besides there is this

The most complaints I’ve ever read about S&W firearms come from this forum, specifically these sections. Go figure.

if you are planning for a gunfight, by all means, carry a .45. If you are just too old to fight or run, the 365 is fine. I have no issues hitting at a 7 yds with it. Of course my S&W 1911sc and Sig 220 shoot better, but bigger and heavier, not to mention hard to conceal. I just read A Gift of Fear. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it to help you prioritize your safety strategy. Thanks to whoever on this forum suggested it.

I'll stick with my ol reliable. 5 ready to go...no feeding issues...reasonable power...great for pocket carry.

Drop some Buffalo Bore 38Spl standard pressure 158 grain "soft lead" SW HP loaded to 854 fps / 256 fpe from a 2" barrel in that and you've got a very effective combo that exceeds most 9mm loads for penetration AND expansion! It will definitely "kick" but you ain't playin' tiddly-winks after all!

BB does make a +P hard cast version that clocks an honest 1,040 fps from a 2" barrel. That's 379 fpe with a heavier slug, going as faster or faster than most 9mm 147 gr. loads! Yes, it will kick, but not any harder than a 357 mag from the same weight revolver!

Don't understand "throw away shots" since the shooter is accountable for all shots.

Can't tell you how many CC guns I've tried, always seem to keep coming back to the Shield 45. For me it just feels right and I shoot it as well as any of my larger guns at self defense distance.

Same for me! I've tried and tried others, the Shield 45 always gets back to #1 for me! And I'm also much more accurate with it than all other CC handguns I've tried.
