This is my:

Birth Year :D

Birth Month :D

Birth Day gun....

Yep.

Tomorrow is the date that this K22 Masterpiece and I were both delivered from our respective factories.

I know the exact time for me... Roy can't be that specific about this 3rd Model Masterpiece that shares my birth date.

enjoy,

bdGreen

Happy Birthday! To you. ;-)

kudos to all you "young whippersnappers"

You "young guys" born post WWII have it easy to find a S & W from your birth year (say nothing of exact day & month!).

For me January 1945 means pretty much military "pickins" at best..so closest I've got is an Ithaca 1911-A1 (late 1943) and on the other side a 1946 K-22 Masterpiece. I do have a Navy Victory but it serial numbers way back to the 1942 era before S hammer block.

Still looking for a NIB "special order" (off the books) S&W anything from January 1945...in Europe Battle of the Bulge was still being fought and in the Pacific we were still a month away from Iwo Jima so I'm thinking the arms contracts were still in full swing, but some research shows they were rapidly winding down.

I have but two birthyear S&W revolvers: a K.22 Combat Masterpiece and a pre-27 6".

1954 was a great year. Anybody with nice 1954 specimens willing to sell, please let me know. I have a few from other dates to trade, so you might find what you want.

Wouldn't I love to find one shipped on my actual birthday! And shipped to Roanoke, VA is pretty sweet, Mr. bdGreen! I don't know where you are, but I'm within 50 miles of downtown Roanoke. It takes the cake to have one on the actual birthday. Congrats!!!!

I have a maybe birth year gun. This 27-4 with serial number beginning with BBV I think means late 1988, but I'm hoping it's actually 1989. I haven't sent off for a letter yet, but plan to in the near future. I'm hoping that it was shipped in early 1989. I'll update this post when the results are in from Roy Jinks. Anyway, this is the closest s&w revolver to my birth year. Thanks for looking!

Close as I can get is we both date back to 1958. A no dash model 28 in "shooter" condition, as I prefer them. I used to own a Browning Light Twelve that was also born in 1958, but my shoulder couldn't take the beating it got from that old gun. I sold it and bought this .357 to take it's place.

It's a whole lot easier to get out of the safe too. LOL!
