I don't have a "large" collection by any means so I thought I would look thru my list and pick out one or two.

Going thru my list I realized that I have only shot about 30% of my guns.   :D

And I still can't decide which other gun(s) to take. LOL

I'm thinking these two.

My 627-2 and my 60-14 Lady Smith.
The Lady Smith has never been fired since leaving the factory.
If they even still fire them at the factory.

Depends on how many you want to clean. My son and our wives went out in June. Took a dozen guns. Watching my son detail clean was a joy although I did 3 to his one. When I have "guests" who have never shot (and won't be cleaning) 5 max. Gives me more control, less to monitor and clean up is quicker. Most newbs love .22 so more than one. Personally, I could go with a Ruger MKII and Model 15 with a 9mm of some flavor and it's good as can be. I'm overdue but it's still over 90 daily. Joe

Kenny-Pick a theme as in K-frame day, 4 inch barrel day, etc. or take a J-frame, K, and N frame .357. Shoot magnum loads and understand why you really lean towards those N-frames. Or take a kid and ask which guns they would like to shoot....

That would make more sense wouldn't it? :D

I only have 3 K frames and I've already shot one of them and not so sure I'll shoot the 3rd one.

I have 3 J frames and this is the only one I haven't shot.

And I have about 9 N frames that I haven't shot and I'm not going to shoot a couple of them. And one L frame that I have not shot yet.

Maybe I should take my 4" 686 no dash instead of the 60-14.

Then I could compare two different 4" 357s.

Thanks for making me rethink this. :)

I'll be going by myself. That way no one can see what a lousy shot I am. :D

75% of my guns are .357s, I don't have much of a variety when it comes to calibers.

No .22 pistols. One .38 special +P. Two .45 autos. Two .41 Magnums and one .44 magnum.

Kenny-It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on a side by side comparison between the 19 and 686. They are both beautiful guns.

I am neither a shooter nor a collector. I am just very fortunate to have a few what I consider very nice S&W pistols.

Of the guns that I have shot I can tell you that these two are my favorites.

I am a much better shot with my 6" M686 that my brother competed in silhouette competitions with. It has an amazing trigger and a rear Millet sight.

My 6" M66-1 is way fun to shoot too. I enjoyed shooting this one a lot.

I am looking forward to shooting both of the 4" versions, the M19-2 the most. :D

I always shoot one rimfire, and then one centerfire. I've found I can only shoot something in the neighborhood of 8 guns. Much past that and something sits too long.

Sure, I could take each gun out once a year and shoot a lot more but I shoot a gun better if spend more time with it. Some near-duplicates can extend it, for example there's not a lot of difference between switching back and forth between a 6" K-38 and a 6" Model 19.

Edit: OK no .22...........go with the .41 then!

No .22 pistols. [\QUOTE]
My first thought was a 22. Always carry a 22 to the range.

Your assignment Bro. rubiranch, is to find yourself a nice model 18 or a 617 and fill the serious deficiency in your collection.

I had a nice 1951 K22 Masterpiece and sold it. I never did shoot it.

I've been told several times that I need a .22 pistol. I do have a Ruger 10/22.

I haven't yet shot the majority of my guns, I have shot my M58 and enjoyed shooting it a lot too.

I forgot my Takarov M57 it's alm slim enough to carry in the summer. Last batch of ammo I got included two boxes of hollow points.

I rarely take more then four revolvers to the range at any given time and normally they matching calibers .38/357, .44 Spl/ Magnum. When I decide on .45 ACP it might be a couple revolvers and a couple Semi-autos. That's really all the guns I want to clean the next day.

My gun range. 100 ft.

What I took. 4" M686 & 4" M19-2.

The ammo I took.

My new targets. ;)

I can tell you that I am either a lousy shot or these two pistols are junk. LOL

The 19-2 needs to be sighted in. I think I'm going to have a friend help me with that. The wind might have been a factor too but I doubt it.

I much prefer the 686. Way better sights for me and just seems to "feel" better.
