I have actually been lurking on here since 2016, but didn't post until today. As my title indicates, I live in California, which makes it very difficult for those of us who like to collect and shoot guns. Many of you may be aware that California gun laws are complex, restrictive, and stacked against the ordinary citizen.

In particular, the "Roster of Handguns Approved for Sale" makes it very difficult, if not impossible, for us to buy any new model semiautomatics, and also restricts transfers of older models if the manufacturer did not maintain them on the roster.

So shooters in California spend more time trying to figure what they can and cannot do, and how to get the guns they want, than they do shooting or fondling their guns. Sad. At some point, I hope either the Second Amendment comes to Kaliforniastan, or I am able to move out. Neither looks imminent.

I love traditional DA metal framed guns. I own a variety of them built by Sig, Beretta, and CZ as well as some plastic striker fired guns I try to avoid talking about in polite company. Unfortunately, I don't own a single S&W 3rd generation pistol at this time, a situation I hope to remedy soon.

Welcome to The Forum. (I capitalize because there are none better!)
Is there a restriction on 3rd Gens there? Seems like there should be a mess of used 4006s floating around.

...I'm afraid we may be on a similar path...

Welcome from NC

I hear that the Peoples' Republic of California just outlawed the little plastic shampoo bottles offered as a courtesy in hotels. Boy, will I feel safe when I visit my son and his family in Burbank. Fortunately, the powers that be had recently outlawed drinking straws. I sure feared those straws in the hands of muggers and the homeless.
