Cows knee deep in ryegrass.
Peaches blooming.
Temps in mid-70s.
We will probably have the traditional “Easter cold snap,” but it
is warm now.
Ryegrass is technically winter grass, but it really puts on a growth
spurt with these warm temps. Even the Bermuda grass is coming
out of dormancy. Hope I don’t have to feed any more hay this spring.
100 miles south of ATL, for reference.

My peach trees are blooming here in NW Arkansas. Of course this has
happened in the past and I have to cover them with wet bed sheets to
save some of the blooms when we have a frost. Plus last week I was
helping an old friend clean up his acreage and we both had tick bites
and saw some lizards but no snakes.

Up here in the Hills, the turkeys are gobbling and strutting around the hens, most deer still have their antlers, lots of snow up high, search and rescue busy seeking out those lost or too tired to continue in deep snow, dry down lower, mid 50's today, low humidity, high winds, HIGH fire hazard, plenty of idiots throwing cigarette butts out their car windows, etc. creating numerous wildfires already, plus some suspicious fires? Seen some green grass trying to start next to melting snow. Temperatures to drop tonight to highs of mid 20's by the weekend. Chance of snow next 4 days. Spring is trying but still has some work to get here. Typical! 🤠

Same here in the Sierras. Drove down to the big town yesterday 16 miles & all the Peach trees were blooming. Looked like snow were on their branches. Checked the long range weather & maybe some storms coming in Sunday. Colder by 20 degrees then. Goodbye peaches.

Brilliant green rye grass, blue skies, tall pines, cows...does it get any better than that? I love this photograph!

I posted that picture and a few more like it on Facebook. One comment was “that’s magazine cover stuff.” :-))
