Beautiful examples of a great model. I can’t pick a favorite. In my opinion. Nobody uses stag as well as Randall does. Yours are no exception.

Thankyou Peakes. Yes my 19 is a handful. It was a present for getting my Master Plumbing license. I see you have a couple model 19’s too. So different than mine but still beautiful. That’s the best part of stag handles no two are a like.

BlackAgnes. I see you have another Beautiful stag 19. I carry my Astro quite a bit and really enjoy it. You must have a soft spot for 16 sp1’s. I think that is the best deal in the knife business. If you optioned a model 1 even close if would cost far more. Beautiful display of an excellent collection.

That 's your view. I've used mine and know others do. Some have posted those knives here.

I've owned and liked a Model 3 and the smaller Model 7, but prefer the straighter Model 5.

Stag is nice IF it fits YOUR hand. I have nice stag handles on Puma and other German knives, but always order Black Micarta on Randalls. My Fallkniven products mostly use Thermorun handles. Work well in all climates and slip proof.

I love my Buck knives and really haven't had any slip, despite the smooth Buckarta handles. I do try to keep blood and fish slime off of all handles.

That Model 12 is much too massive for me. My Fallkniven NL-2 with about an 8 inch blade is my biggest. It does look a lot like a Randall. I think they list the blade at 20CM.

I do own two machetes...

Did you see the pics here by a guy who carves meat with his Model 12?

I get where @jward73 is coming from. They aren’t cheap. We all have a line we won’t cross price wise. For me Randalls are at the high end. But in a world where even a KA-BAR is around $100. Randall’s are not that much more. Money well spent for a forged blade with a nice handle and a beautiful sheath too.

They are just entry level into the world of custom knives. People are spending 2 and 3 times as much for custom knives.

Check out these “custom” knives all over $900. How can they be custom if you don’t have any input? Not one looks worth it to me. Customs and Semi-Customs Over $900 - 1 to 30 of 243 results - Knife Center like I said we all have a line.

A good friend of mine got a Randall 3-6 with a stag handle for a high school graduation present in 1964. It cost as much as a Ruger Standard .22 pistol did at that time ($42).
I got my $42 Ruger .22 Standard before I bought my first Randall but now I have more Randalls than Rugers.
My 3-6 with stag handle (bottom row 8 to the right) is almost identical to the "graduation knife." My 3-7 (bottom row 9 to the right) has been used so much that the keeper strap broke and the blade has been sharpened so many times that it is slightly thinner than when it left the Randall Shop.

Boutique knives???!! Safe queens???!! Well, I sure as heck wish that someone would've told me that before I started using mine!!!

Of course, now that I've used mine, I'm kinda spoiled. I mean, how many knives that "have a place in the real world" can bone out a bull elk without needing touching up several times throughout the process? Sure doesn't sound like a safe queen to me.

Bubba, that is a truly impressive collection. Great perspective comparing them to the cost of a Ruger.
