Issues with Midway USA Shipping?

I agree that Usps has been slower than normal recently. I’ve never had any issues with Midway shipping though - they get stuff out the door and to me pretty quick.

Everyone needs patience especially right now. The pandemic still has things out of whack. I have had stuff sitting at a distribution center with Fed Ex for several weeks but it finally made it here.
It's going to be like this for a while.

We got aa Amazon package delivered by a USPS truck on Sunday afternoon. The USPS driver said that they delivered for Amazon on Sundays. Must be contract work.
On the other hand, I had a package delivered by UPS. The tracking showed that it was refused at the destination. Not us, apparently the USPS office that we use. It went back to a midwest State. I had to notify the shipper, and they sent another.

Best,
Rick

I ordered a press on Monday of last week and received it Tuesday from Midway. It was shipped UPS. Realized I needed a die set and ordered it Tuesday. It arrived today according to my tracker. Right after that notification I got the apology email from Midway. The second order went USPS and took a round about route from Columbia to St. Louis where it lingered then to Kansas City for the weekend and finally here..

Just got an email from Midway.
They say so sorry!
They know they ain’t toting the note!
Doing the deal, getting it done.
I guess my order ain’t on the truck.
It’s still in their computer!

Midway Shipping Issues

I received this e-mail from Midway this afternoon. It appears to me that COVID-19 is also causing unplanned disruptions in their business operations:

Dear Customer,

The MidwayUSA Customer experience has not been what we want or you deserve over the past few months. For this, we’re truly sorry.

Because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, internet commerce has been and continues to be at an all-time high, creating unprecedented levels of MidwayUSA orders and residential deliveries for our package delivery partners. This has created some challenges:

1. While we’ve projected estimated delivery dates as accurately as possible, there have been delays from our package delivery partners as they’ve experienced large volumes and employee shortages. If your order didn’t arrive on time, or you received inaccurate tracking information, or both, we’re very sorry. If your order hasn’t arrived yet, rest assured it’s on the way. We apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience in allowing a few extra days before contacting us.

2. We're hiring as fast as we can and continue to do our best to respond to Customers as quickly as possible, but our incoming communications exceed our capacity. Regrettably, we’ve had to temporarily stop taking phone calls, and even web chats at times, and still can’t process all your communications fast enough. We’ve remained several days behind in answering emails, and have long wait times when web chat is enabled. All available Employees, regardless of their position in the company, continue to help ship packages and respond to Customers. We’ll resume phone calls and web chats as soon as possible. [Emphasis added by me]

We’re very sorry for the package delays and communication issues.

Thanks so much for your patience, understanding, and loyalty.

We have USPS trucks going through our neighborhood every Sunday nowadays, delivering for Amazon. Which means if the item is small enough, they'll leave it in the mailbox.

I had some significant issues with another online firearms supplies store. They would ship UPS with "who cares?" priority. Once the package arrived at the local UPS tracking indicated it was given to USPS. A week or two and no package. When we finally got the package it was postmarked for the day before. UPS had sat on it or lost it.

I have been ordering more from Midway because I can pick it up at Midway. When I have it shipped from Midway it takes the post office a week to get it the 50 miles to my house. Most times it travels 75 miles on the other side of where I live then back to another town 30 miles the other way. Then back to me. Interesting to check each day to see my stuff has gotten to that day.

I received an email from Midway today. They were apologizing for slow service due to COVID-19 and asking for patience. Even though, as I noted above, my latest order arrived at warp speed, I guess that has not been the case for many.

Sorry. But this an excuse. An excuse that some companies are fond of using.

I’ve ordered gun related items from three other companies. The order was processed when they said it would be and shipped almost immediately. The communication was excellent.

When I placed my order with Midway I called two weeks after it was supposed to arrive. They said that it was already delivered. They shipped it to Montana but was supposed to go to Alaska. I looked back at my order and it clearly stated Alaska. But when they recited the shipping address to me, they said Montana. And they wanted me to pay shipping again!

This was not the fault of USPS.

Some companies haven’t answered the phones for the last few months now. So it’s sounds like Midway didn’t plan well and are struggling to stay organized. Pulling a product of the shelf, pack it and slap an address on it ain’t rocket science.

I too got and email from MidwayUSA, they were explaining the cause of the delayed shipping on their part and the part of the carriers. I have the same issues with Amazon

Years of good service from Midway, but their packing/shipping out has slowed considerable, and before the covid.

The loose boxes of ammo in a larger than necessary box with air pillows about half burst and the boxes mashed to ****. Other than that they do a good job............

Not to pounce on the postal service but when I see “Transferred to Smart solutions “, I just groan.
I am not a fan and have noticed a marked decrease in fast service when that happens.
But hey, it’s all about the dollar, right?

Yesterday I got an I'm sorry e-mail from Midway because my order didn't arrive yet. They did their job and shipped it the same day I ordered it. Yet they made a poor choice in carriers. TheyI shipped UPS who passed it to something called UPS Mail Innovations in KC, MO until Monday. Then it showed as being sent leaving KC for the destination Monday morning, to just disappear. It's due tomorrow, so we'll see. I'm in PA. the sad part is I paid for this mess, but it's not on Midway.
