Dawn Wells (Mary Ann, Gilligan's Island) died

Although I only talked with her in a few conference calls, I had the opportunity to represent Mrs. Wells when I was practicing law in Nashville.
At that time she owned several rental properties and one on her tenants had filed a Chp. 13 bankruptcy proceeding and owed a lot of back rent.

Her real estate attorney and I were acquainted and she contacted me to ask if I would represent "Marry Ann." I wasn't going to miss that opportunity and remember her voice well. It would melt the ice caps.

The crash of the real estate market during the late 80's, in Nashville, took its toll on her finances. As previously stated, her fans came to her rescue a couple of years ago and she was able to live a dignified life.

I hope she finds peace and blissful rest on her heavenly island.

Ginger

82 years old, I just can't picture that young lady as an 82-year-old.Even in grade school when that show was on, I never would've thought she was 19 years older than me.
A side note, there's a music video by the Bobby Fuller Four doing a Buddy Holly song, "Love's Made A Fool Of You," and I swear to goodness that she is one of the dancing girls, shown 2 or 3 times, on Bobby's left. Most girls on videos are models, etc., so I wouldn't be surprised if that was her.
Is any Gilligan Islander still alive? She was definitely a babe. Raquel Welch? The prettiest woman to ever walk the Earth? Too much beauty for the professor!
The actress who played Ginger is the sole surviving cast member.

There was one episode where Mary Ann fell and bumped her head and after that she thought SHE was Ginger. She then put on a very revealing dress and did her hair and makeup all sexy with a nice tan and started talking in a sultry and provocative voice, she was even trying hard to kiss Gilligan but the idiot was resisting. That episode was when I really started liking her more than Ginger!

RIP. I remember from Gilligan's Island as well as the movie The Town That Dreaded Sundown where she portrayed one of the victims of the killer but who survived which my mom took me and my brother to see when it was in the theaters. A movie made by the same group that made The Legend of Boggy Creek.

Eighty-two is not that old, by modern standards. We have lost so many people this year that might still be around if not for the present mess we find ourselves in. As to the age old question, I guess I too was always torn between the glamour and the coconut cream pie. I don't know if I ever made a decision. :D

Yeah, eighty-two is not that old, since so many of us here, are racing toward it.

They are all gone except one.

So Mary Ann or Ginger or one of the girls from Petticoat Junction? Once someone asked me which tv show my family was like growing up: Leave It To Beaver, Father Knows Best, The Brady Bunch, or Eight Is Enough? I answered, Petticoat Dysfunction Junction

If I remember she was the only one on the cast smart enough to write in residuals on her contract. She made millions from the syndication of the re-runs of the show and the other cast members basically got a zip

I remember James Garner feeling he got took with Maverick and when The Rockford Files came out he got residuals. He said that after it had run its course and 5 years of syndication it had yet to officially show a profit. Sometimes you can't beat Hollywood lawyers.
Ginger from ages 13-18 Maryann from 18 on was my vote.
