Cokes at Auction Yesterday

Alderfer Auctions (SE PA) held an on-line auction yesterday. There was a pre-29 and a 25-2 that were both wearing Cokes.

Both guns went for the same price: $1100. Even with the buyer's premium and tax, that comes to a hair under $1400 - which is like getting the guns for about $900 or less. Just wondered if it was anybody on here that won either one.

I didn't go after any handguns, but I was 1 for 2 of the lots I did bid on. Missed on 150 rounds of Remington .22 Jet, but was successful on a Winchester, Model 94, NRA Centennial Musket, that will complement my NRA Centennial rifle. Rifle was purchased new by my father and was shot. The Musket is NIB with all hang tags.

I have noticed that condition of Cokes really determines value.
There are Cokes and then there are Cokes. Chipped or repaired, they are just shooter grade. I have bought a few pair with orig. finish and all
diamonds perfect, meaning nice sharp points. Crushed points, no value.

Unless those revolvers were beat to death i would have had a hard time not tossing in a $1200 bid on each and taking them both home.

So are we also dumb for paying the inflated prices for guns the way there going up!..That's the way it's a big payday when we sell one of the guns we bought 40yrs ago..........................M*

When I look at a gun I'd like to buy, I look at the whole package, grips, box, paperwork and cleaning kit. I there are two equal condition/price guns out there one with extras and one the gun only, I usually go with the extras. I recently bought a M-25 with non football rosewood grips below regular M-25 price. The grips were probably worth 1/3 the value of the revolver. About 5 years back I bought a Ruger 77 in 22-250 for $180.00 and it had a $300 Leuapold (sp) scope on it.

To me, my collecting has done just that. When I was priced out of guns, I started collecting holsters, when priced out of those, I started collecting grips. I guess my next step will be individual spent shells! Really, I am just forced to sell something to be able to buy something else.

I paid $575 plus tax for this set of Cokes.

But they did have a 6.5 inch Mod 27 no dash attached.

I'll give you 50 bucks for them. Looks like checkering is all worn off! Like a poster above said: shooter grade. 50 bucks.
