The NY Times recently ran a science article entitled

When an Eel Climbs a Ramp to Eat Squid From a Clamp, That’s a Moray.

The catchy title resulted in an explosion in the reader Comments and articles like this "NY Times’ Genius ‘That’s a Moray’ Headline Wins the Internet: ‘Deserves Its Own Pulitzer’

It’s rare for a media brand to be on the receiving end of heaping praise these days, but for a full 24 hours, the New York Times has delighting readers with a single headline: “When an Eel Climbs a Ramp to Eat Squid From a Clamp, That’s a Moray.“

The piece, published Tuesday, examines the hunting practices of moray eels on land, relying on footage from a recent study that shows how the creatures use “a sneaky second set of jaws” to get the job done.

The topic is interesting, but the headline and on-theme captions littered throughout the article have been the real draw for readers, who have been cheering for the paper of record to win some kind of prize for the effort.
(I don't have a NYT subscription, so accessing articles is spotty, but if you hit the "stop loading" icon in your browser at the right time, it may load the article before the lock comes in.)

Up here it's ever so much simpler:

- Looks scary ie, "high-capacity" magazine or clip, camo finish
- (Anti-gun) "experts" have deemed item unnecessary for hunting
- Has possibly been used by a criminal to kill someone at some point
(Note: That criminals cannot get a firearms licence is not, repeat NOT, to be discussed.)

Simples!

Tax deductions: Every dollar you spend (home mortgage interest) saves you 5¢ to 35¢ on your tax bill. Paying off your house saves 100% of the interest payment and costs 5% to 35% in additional taxes.

End Result: You have 65% to 95% of your mortgage interest to spend on what you want to buy. You can go broke spending on tax deductions.
