I was curious what the more experienced shooters on here think. I only have experience with the J frame (Taurus 856) and L-Frame (Smith & Wesson 686-1). I love the L frame, it fits my hand like a glove, whereas I traded in the J frame because I found it difficult to handle. Maybe it was just the fact it was a Taurus and not a Smith and Wesson J Frame ;)

I like how easy it is to conceal and carry a J frame. That being said, until I try more guns/frames for me the L frame seems like the Goldilocks frame for me, just right! :D

You forgot the X Frames.
Looking to the future for Y and Z.

With an X in 460 you can say that... the Buck stops here .....
but it is 200 yds from where I took the shot. :D

Making some stocks that fit my hands with gloves and with bare hands.
A gun that requires two hands needs a place for both and shaped to spread the recoil.

Are those both Model 66's? Beautiful guns man! I also spotted a tactical flashlight :) I use O-Light and that looks same size as mine so I am glad to see we share that in common. I think a tactical flashlight is crucial in many situations, not just defense. Very cool EDC gear, I have to step my game up

Model 19's :D

I love em all but tend to gravitate toward N frames for to the 44 mag ctg, and J frames cause, well everyone has to have some pocket rockets in their life

As much as I enjoy my 686, I'll admit I am on the hunt for a J frame for that exact reason. As carrying my 686 is a pain, and forget about concealing it unless I am wearing extra large or bulky clothes. Even then it is iffy :D

I like the K,L,& N frames the best. They all have very similar lockworks and all can have a very nice DA. The K and L have the same grip frame and take the same grips, so very similar to hold. The N frame has a slightly bigger grip frame.

The X frame 460 and 500 mags have a K frame grip also.

The J frame has a little different action, coil spring versus flat spring for the hammer power, but I like them too. It has a small J grip frame.

The Governor 410/45 Colt is the Z frame, so they already have that one. I don't know what grip frame it has.

Haha, and while pointing out that he missed the X, you hint that the Z-frame doesn’t exist. I find humor in that! :D (it’s the designation for the S&W Governor)

Me, my knee jerk reaction is the K-frame for sure for sure… EXCEPT, it would be like having a toolbox with only one tool.

The K-frame is the best fit, feel and balance, all of the sweetness exists in the K-frame. However, for me it has to be .22, .32 or .38.

I also love the .357 deeply and I hate the .357 in a K-frame. So L and N-frames are near and dear to my heart.

My favorite guns are N-frames. I just have a thing for big bore revolvers. .44 Specials and .45 Colt. Not to mention that full house .357s are better shooting out of an N-frame.

I think the L-frame is the ideal .357 Magnum. Just the right combination of size and weight to tame the beast and carry comfortably.

However, my favorite shooters and carry guns are K-frames. The size just fits my hand perfectly. I really enjoy casual shooting with .38s or .22s. I have a Model 18 that goes to the range pretty much every trip.

I have several J-frames, but honestly, they're a little small for my hand. I have trouble shooting the little J .38s well. But have been known to carry one. I actually prefer the .32s in this frame size.

I have no need for an X frame. Just not into the punishment.
I have owned a couple of I-frames, but they're too small for me and long gone.

Different sizes for different uses. Hard to pick just one. ;)

.357 Magnum is the best round ever made (in my very biased opinion :D) I too have a deep love for it, and it shoots so smoothly in my 686-1.

for me, 3" k-frame is optimum.

but my 4" i-frame 32 RP is a hoot to shoot.

hope to add a 3" j-frame someday.

J-frame.

Favorite is a 3" Baby Chiefs Special.

Next is my "vanity" Baby Chiefs Special (Craig Spegel boots).

Bodyguards (including Models 38 & 49) have grown on me.

Tough choice because I like them all for different reasons, but if I had to pick one, it would be the K frame.
