I've often wondered if some of the hate for the Beatles and Queen is that they created such a unique form of music that it was impossible for others to make money doing something similar. This is in contrast to 12-bar blues where you can add any amount of style to differentiate yourself.

That speculation aside, don't play Hocus Pocus by Focus if you are a professional driver and need to keep your license. It's music to speed by.

Today's "music" isn't music - it is simply discordant noise to a rhythm. As bad as Disco is, at least there is a melody line. A Polynesian Haka o r an African tribal war chant are more bearable than Rap.

I was in third grade when the Beatles hit the Ed Sullivan Show. I admit to enjoying a few of their tunes when they were a group and before they tried to have dueling singles on their albums. I will admit that Ray Charles version of Yesterday makes McCartney sound like a pre-pubescent boy.
