Getting rid of old Blue :( Kinda like putting Angus down but it's time. Doesn'y make it easier.
The new put is expected in at the end of the month. A Toyota Tacoma TRD V6 Off Road in 4WD. Lunar gray with LED headlights (extra) and a bunch of little stuff I didn't need or care for, like a blackout package and locking tailgate and the pit pat stuf Toyota always adds. Basically my non negotiable was LED lights so I can finally see at night and able to tow the whaler. Next year the V6 will not be available as they are going ot the turbo 4. Spec sheet says it will be a bit more powerful than the V6 but I'm still not there yet. FOr towing I want a naturally aspirated engine not a force fed turbo whose existance is mainly to balance out the EPA mileage estimates for across the line. That plus I never like to buy the first year of a re-design (which is why I bought old blue as a 1999 rather than wait for the redesigned 2000-history has provem me correct as she has lasted almost 24 years and almost 460000 miles)
The capper for choosing the smaller Tacoma over the BIG Tundra is that the Hillux is the most used truck in the world, and millions of muslim terrorists can't be wrong. :p :D
Looking forward to driving it around the cane fields shooting stuff out the window with my AK47 ;)

Toyotas are great vehicles. I’ve had several, all reliable and pretty much maintenance free - just routine oil changes and they are gtg…….put 197K on my last 4Runner and it was still running fine when I traded it in.
My wife’s English cousins tell us - if you what to take a ride in the English countryside, drive a RangeRover…..if you what to get back, drive a Toyota……

Congrats and betting you will enjoy it, although it appears new trucks are hard to learn the gizmos. Still have a 2005 Toyota tundra truck with 8 ft bed, roll down windows and a i-force v-8. The 2005 Tundra is probably smaller than your new Tacoma, but there is no electronic "box" and 15 in tires are cheaper. Probably would still have my 1994 little iron block toyota, but it got totaled.

My "Tan Tank" was a 1979 GMC Suburban that we disposed of in 2001 with 375,000 miles. Pulled campers and trailers of farm equipment all over. While the vehicle may be in someone else's yard, the memories will always be in your heart!

Your gonna love it.

Bought mine new in 2018, and haven't found a thing I don't like about it.

Old Blue?! On the block?! Say it ain't so!

(Was it Old Blue you inadvertently shot through the gizzard way back when or was that your wife's car? Was a ways back so I don't rightly recall... Anyways, rest in peace...)

Can you borrow a M2HB and make a redneck technical? Maybe bolt a recliner in the bed so you can shoot sitting down?

Buddy of mine bought a brand new 2020. He uses it like a truck, has about 100k on it now, and no issues. I have ridden in it often, and my only complaint is the side windows seem too narrow - you have to duck down to get a good view. But then, I am 6'3.

The Tacomas are outstanding trucks.

They are supper reliable. They are great off road and fit down trails a full size truck can’t go. The 22RE motor and 5 speed manual transmission were indestructible. HOWEVER calling it a truck is a stretch. If you don’t really haul or tow they are ok. I’ve had 4 of them since 1987 and always went back to a full size truck.
