…and I'm in my kitchen with my 2 dogs, Earl and Ethel, hangin' out with me while I have a pot of veggie-beef soup (my sons asked for that for Christmas dinner) gurgling on the stove long enough for me to able to put it in the frij to finish cooking by dinner time tomorrow. I also proved my lack of discipline coz I'm having a cup of coffee, but doggone if it ain't wonderful. All's currently right within my world.

One thing I've always loved about the S&W Forum is the type of people it's always attracted. I go as far back as guys like Dick Burg and Quarter Cherokee and many others who had earned my respect and enjoyment from reading their posts. A place where sanity, honor, and logic actually MATTER. I don't even have to say how that's becoming scarcer and scarcer these days. But this place has always felt the same to me as if I was visiting an old friend's house. Both a rarity and a blessing. One can almost feel the warmth from the wood stove, smell the coffee, and see the rough-hewn walls.

Whatever it is in my character makeup is such that for whatever reason, logging onto this forum in the wee hours of Christmas morning, as I've done every year since I've joined, just completes my feeling of home on Christmas and for that, I'm eternally grateful.

So I just wanted to yell howdy, thank you, and Merry Christmas.

Quigley and I have been up since 0500 preparing a slow-cooked roast for our Christmas meal.

He seems to be saying "OK Boss, what's up with all this?"

May God bless and have a wonderful Christmas.

Lights off except for tree and mantle, Yule Log flames from TV and the sun is rising as I type, Marianna wandering about humming to herself.
I've been blessed and an fortunate to have found comrades on this Forum.
Happy Yuletide all.

Merry Christmas! We celebrated last night. The roast was perfect and the dishes my sister, son ,daughter and daughter in law made were excellent.Grams slept through most of the day,my ex wife thought it was festivus and we all had a great time lol

Nice post, couldn't agree more. This is such a nice place to be, and great people to be able to share our passion for guns, and so many things about our lives. I believe what we see and experience here on this forum is truly a reflection of the real world, not the distorted version that we get fed via our television. Okay, definitely a cut above, with a lot fewer wackos, but I still have faith in the rest of humanity…. ;).

As for the waking hour, I often see 4am, then I pee and go back to bed! My problem is being able to fall asleep with so much on my mind. Tough year, and I pray that 2024 is a bit kinder.

Merry Christmas everyone, hope you all have a great day on this most blessed and hopeful of all days!

I've also been up since my body alarm goes off at 5:30…enjoying some coffee by the fireplace while the everyone here at my daughter's house is still asleep.

While we live in Ohio, both of our kids and grandkids are now in one state, CT, so we can see everyone at one time for the first time since they've gone off to college many years ago.

As both sides of in-laws are also in CT, we have to "share" time with them as well but we're fortunate in that they're all good people and everyone gets along.

Too much food, too much libation…but safe and warm…much to be thankful for.

Merry Christmas!
