Favorite Non-Smith 9mm Handgun

Bought a SIG 320 when they first come out.
Mine is a Subcompact which has since been discontinued .
Added Talon grip tape and its my daily carry .
Shoots really good with anything I put in it.

Glock 48. Despite carrying glocks for my LE career I was never a big fan. Reliable and accurate, yes but didn't feel right in my hands. The 48 was the Glock I sought for many years. It's still second fiddle to my Shield Plus as an EDC but close. I bought a SA-35 a few months ago that I'm getting aquainted with.

I probably have too many 9mm pistols, but they keep turning up in the inexpensive rack and are so easy to use, and I am weak. Picking one non-S&W is tough. I shoot my 5" Canik very well, and so too my Walther PPS. But, for being different and/or oozing quality, I have to go with a Steyr GB, Strike One, or one of my Grand Powers. I think the Grand Powers edge it as they have better triggers, both in hammer and striker fired form.

I have two favorites, but since I have to pick one...

#1 - Beretta M9
#2 - FN Browning Hi-Power

Looking at previous posts after I posted my choices, I see that I have a lot of company. BTW, my HP was manufactured in 1961.

HK VP9. Shot several steel & 3-gun matches with it. has eaten everything i've ran through it with no malfunctions to speak of.

For a edc non-Smith it will be my replacement for my model 36(gave to my son) a plain Jane LCR

This Girsan compact Hi Power is however, on its way to possibly replacing it as my favorite concealed carry 9mm.

This is my favorite non S&W “used to be a handgun”. Since I had to register it as an SBR, I added an A2 stock and a suppressor to make it a whole lot more effective than it ever was as a braced pistol. That’s poorly thought out knee jerk gun control for you.
