Send an Email to Sue Lorusso. She was the former COO of the Lew Horton Dist. Co. She has the computerized list of the models and numbers that passed through their store. Her email is [email protected]. If your gun did indeed pass through Lew Horton, you can have her print up a certificate with your information. I think it's 60.00.

According to a letter I received in 2018 from Earl Minot, former Historian of the Lew Horton Company 6000 were produced from 1983 to 1987.

This is probably the route you will have to go if you want to really know how many revolvers were made with Product Code 104212. I did a quick check in the SCSW 4th Ed. (Pg 323), which confirmed that Model 686s were introduced in 1980 and continued until the 686-1 was released in 1986. PC 104212 was released in 1984, and this may be your answer depending upon your s/n:

"Model 686 Compact 1984 Limited Edition...1st 100 were engraved, red ramp front sight, white outline rear sight, finger groove wood grips, SS trigger and hammer, 2-1/2" bbl., RB. 2500 revolvers for Lew Horton (example s/n AFB0195)".

The Performance Center section had no additional information on Lew Horton models with this PC. Hope this helps.
