Hello all,
Been a while but, I may be a future owner (if things go well) of a Model 29-2 4" barreled revolver.
One small problem - the extractor rod has been abused by a pair of viscous pliers. eek:
What I need to know is, are there different lengths rods? I want to make sure I get the correct one.
Also, there used to be a gentleman here that repaired /refurbished the liners for presentation cases. Joe Cebull was his name but can't find any current posts from him. Any help on this subject (Presentation Case repair) would also be appreciated cause, it needs attention.

Thanks for the time & efforts.

Unless the gun is pristine, which it probably isn't because of the ejector rod abuse, spin it in your power drill and polish off the marks and cold blue it and save yourself the $.

Usually the plier marks are on the checkered tip of the rod and next to impossible to fix.

I would obtain another rod. The N frame extractor rods are a pretty standard length. However they usually need a simple final fitting for length to lock up properly with the front locking bolt. That's why on new guns the front end surface comes in the white (except on the 44 Triple Lock).

Recognize that to remove it the thread is left handed on a 29-2. So if you order a replacement, confirm that the threads are left handed .
