Updated: Ross small of the back

Carefully crafted sarcasm or change of heart?

I am a practical person. If all the people rumored to have been incapacitated by injuries related to small of the back holsters were placed on top of Stone Mountain it would be known as Stone Mound. Yes, there is a 50/50 chance it could happen. Seven or eight years ago a metro Atlanta man was jogging down a SC beach and got hit by an airplane making an emergency landing. Anything is possible, however unlikely.

Colby, will you please turn the page and post so I can continue reading? I may have to shrink this holster after all because it loosened up quickly after several in and outs.
Thanks a lot.

Sure, I'll take the work of a random guy on the internet over a million dollar company that would make more money selling you products that are 100% safe as you claim.

Are you seeing it yet?

Again every 10 minutes on the TV is a lawycommercial about slip and falls, are you
actually going to argue that a gun right there will prevent any damage to your body? If people are getting injured without guns there, how can a gun make it better?

Why do cops not carry items on their belts in that location, are they dumb as well?

Yup that's me, "random guy". Search for "red nichols" and you'll get the band leader who inspired my handle. Search for "red nichols holster" and you'll get page after page about me the holster designer/maker/author. Check out my blog about gunleather, and my book about it, but forum rules don't permit me to link to them.

When you search for me you'll also find a con man who doesn't like me for outing him as just that, a con man.

FYI this "random guy on the internet" wrote that chapter of BSG and many others in the book, age 25 or so.

The photo of Bianchi wearing a suit, then the next photo showing jacket off and pant legs pulled up to reveal him wearing about a dozen holstered handguns.. did you take that?

Pages 182 & 183 from John Bianchi’s book “Blue Steel and Gunleather” though some random guy on the internet claims to have written the chapter on holster fitting.

I was the gofer for that shot :-). Here it is, below.

Naive as I was in '78, because JB was my hero at least until he sold his company in '87 (but I didn't go with the sale, my choice), I didn't realize until many years later that he took the photo concept directly from Chic Gaylord's same image. Chic's was much earlier and identical in almost every way. Both images are shown in Holstory the Book, both editions.

Did I design them? We worked together, JB and I, on all new products and we cooperated on the Askins Avenger and the Shadow that I see at kidney positions in the image; and likely on some of the others, too. Oh, somehow I got on the design patent for the leg holsters.
