Racoons got my pet duck

Really got to me. Racoons got to Quackers last night and pretty much stripped her clean. I loved that duck! She gave the yard character! Something about a duck wandering around the yard quacking and getting petted. I'm on a mission. Got a momma racoon and four yearling pups -they ate good last night Got the trap set and we'll see. Gonna talk to my pest control guy tomorrow at the poker game and see what poison to use-I want the racoons to die a slow and horrible death. Thinking about soakng warafin in some antifreeze. I'm surprisingly melancholy-I really was attached to that duck.
Amazing how attached one can get to a pet.....

Leg hold coon traps work great baited with marshmellows and peanut butter....Works on possums too.....All you need is a club...I hate "em"........They eat the eggs from every ground nesting birds out there

ATF wait times are down to days or sometimes only a day. The problem is everything is back ordered.
You need someone who already has one who can supervise you.
How soon you need it done?

.22 CB Caps are real quiet. In a rifle the loudest noise is the smack of the bullet hit.

I've learned that good ole vanilla wafers bring in racoons very fast.

Poison can get good critters too. There some very powerful pellet rifles, quiet.

We used metal snap traps for skunks, porkupines etc at our Tahoe cabin
but pets are also on the list, so you need to know what can happen.

Had it happen to our Banty chicks, when I was in grade school.

It does get your blood Boiling !

Gary, I fully understand the emotional attachments we forge with animals and they deepen with time and familiarity. Both animals mentioned are denizens of the wild and the raccoon was just doing what a raccoon does.

Poisoned bait will kill whatever finds it.

I agreed with a bolt action .22 rifle with CB caps.
before killing always have a ready dug grave.

Land mines work but neighbors, fire department, and cops get really upset.

Have you considered an air rifle? They're pretty quiet and effective for unwanted backyard critters.
