I own a twin to yours! I've always wanted a 66 in 2.5 inch bbl and have failed to find one at a price I was willing to pay. Then I found my 64-2 at a good price and I gotta tell you I almost think I like it better. Sure, it's only a .38 special, but that's about all I ever fire in a .357 anyway.
Yeah, phone has a 50mp cam, gotta get the file small enough to post. Going through my spare parts bbl I found a set of zaltamont Super Rosewood conversion grips. Feels stupendous. I did ask why it was so cheap having never been used, dealer told me the owners widow brought it in on consigment.
Great find at very nice price. Still have my 64 2" (no dash) I purchased new in 1976 for $145 as my off duty carry. Good concealment piece especially if you are used to 4" K frames. Carried mine for a time in a Bianchi X-15 shoulder holster, then later throughout the years in a pancake holster.
Unfortunately not, I made the mistake of telling the wife, she took the 60 so now I'm down the 50 profit from tickets but another 10 for the cost of said tickets. You'd think I'd have learned by now.
Will tell ya a funny story about my 64-2. It didn't have the original grips on it and when I got it and I knew I would be putting a nice set of Hogue smooth Tulipwood grips that I already owned on it. Then later I got to looking at the grips that came on it, a set of Pachmyer combat grips with closed backstrap and I put them back on it just for grins and I liked them so much it's still wearing them.
You know, I've ALWAYS preferred blue over stainless. Just looks sweet. I've got several pythons and cobras in blue and stainless, and a few in royal blue. Nothing better. I've got like 10 or 11 L frames from 2-4" the 586s look oh so sexy.
Great revolvers. All stainless steel, easy maintenance and enough weight to handle +P ammo easily. I have been carrying one daily for several years now. Started life with the local police department, then traded in at a local dealer, came to me about 12 years ago. Like most police trades, carried a lot but fired very little.
Just finished field stripping, inspecting and oiling. This revolver shows absolutely no signs of ever having been fired. I've since told the dealer, if any more come in from this seller, hold em, I'll buy em.
