Have a chance to get a 28 4” in decent shape. Some bluing loss at muzzle and on the cylinder - nice lock up
no box or paperwork but has the stamp.
Plain black sights not the red insert
What are these going for nowadays?

Certainly no more than a non-marked in the same condition, IMO. In fact, I would argue with the seller that the NYSP stamp reduced value, especially here in the South. :ROFLMAO:

I would think N-frames in the NE would be slow, slow sellers. That should lower the price but somehow I doubt it would very much.

Shooter grade would be in the $500-600 range in my world. "Nice" would be $800+. "Decent" would be between the two.

If I didn't have one, I'd have it on my short lists of "needs". Once in a while I shoot wadcutters out of my 28. I swear it makes me giggle because it's like shooting a .22 steel revolver. Just no recoil at all. That's just so much fun.

The description of "decent shape" is very subjective. One man's 80% is another's 70%.
Pictures are needed for a realistic estimate.

Not sure where your located but here in NY, any NYPD/NYSP marked revolver bring a premium.

If you end up not buying it, pass along the info. I need a NYSP marked 28 to fill that hole in my collection. I have to give it a try at least.

End of barrel has slight bluing loss, edge of cylinder has slight bluing loss, one section of cylinder has a spot where a holster snap may have rubbed it away. The rest has that deep finish and it has original stocks. I found out the asking price is $500 which seems a decent price. Place is closed until Tuesday but I may make an offer of $450 and go from there.

They also have a 57 6" with only a turn line three Ts but I did not catch the serial number. I may have to do a package deal.

$500-$600 range, I'd guess. NYSP M28-2's are late 1979 manufacture, SN will be in the N546000 range.
