RedCardinal's post on the PC pistols got me thinking that I haven't seen a PC gun pic thread. Seems there is a pic thread for everything else.

I'll start with my meager two PC pistols. Both Shorty 40s, 1st gen & 2nd gen.

I know we'll have to save 10 pages or so for Grinder

I have never seen such an piece.

is the beavertail an integral part of the frame?

I like on the old backstrap insert so you can screw grips on it...SWEET!!!!

is this a SQ or has it been shot?

thanks in advance

CQB,
the beavertail is part of the frame
I've never shot it= too rare, but the original owner did
Back when this was made, you could order the pistol with different grades (Phases) and options, including personalized serial numbers.
This was a top of the line "Phase III" .40

OK, COOL DEAL!

I did not know SWPC was doing custom orders early on.

IMHO, the grips of the SW are a draw back and if SW were to offer a back strap and tap the frame and offer grip options, one could really personalize your weapon in the area of grips.

thanks for the info

I know we have a few more PC pistols on this board. Very nice selection to post Grinder & SW CQB 45. I'd personally like to see some of the later versions of the Shorty 40, but any PC pistols are welcome.

Cheers,
Sam

Nice trio Bob, I seem to remember certain Mark 3 40s to be blued as well as stainless. Am I remembering correctly or just getting senile?

It looks almost identical to my 2nd gen except for the blued extractor and adjustable sites.

Cheers,
Sam

You are correct. I own one. It is at Smith and Wesson right now being completely re-finished.

The frame is black anodized, I think the parts are melonite. I am not sure what the finish is on the slide.
