Who here is Military or former Military?

US Army,11B 1980-83.Ft Benning Ga. 197th.Bde. Ala.NG,88M and 54E 83 to 94 1103 trans.
 
USMC 14 June 1981 - 30 June 2001
- Morse Intercept Operator when that school was on Corry Station in P'cola
- 3 and a half years on Kaneohe (last six months was legal hold)
- 3 tours on Camp LeJeune
- 4 Med floats (LPD Raleigh and Shreveport) (LPH Guam and Guadalcanal) - first float on the Raleigh, Terry Waite was kidnapped - last float on the Guadalcanal, went to Somalia a few days after that unfortunate Army incident
- 6 months on Misawa AB in '82; two more years on Misawa about '90 or so
- 30 days Desert Storm
- Korea enough times to get tired of it
- a couple schools on Goodfellow
- Thai Language DLI
- 22 months in Bangkok (it's a hard life, but you do what you gotta' do)

For you ASA types - I'm pretty sure that those schools are on Ft. Huachuca for everybody now. I know the Marines went from P'cola to Devens to Huachuca.

6 years service with U.S. Army. 4 of those with 82ND AA. MOS includes infantry, medic. Still kinda miss it from time to time.

1 ships company tour on the USS Forrestal (C1A time), then never set foot on a boat again until 1989 and then only long enough to unload/load people and stuff for the rides to/from the boats.

USAF 1984-1988, Sgt (E-4), stationed at Travis AFB, CA. Worked at David Grant Medical Center in the Squadron Commander/1st Sgt Section. I learned a lot about life working for CMSgt Harold Nelson, First Sergeant DGMC. He is a great man.

Seems to be quite a few of us had the same duty stations and even the same jobs at one time or the other.

RonH I started MCRD in San Diego May of 84.

elcrusr your the first FM I ever seen post. I was an FM at Minot mostly at the Golf and India sites.

mtb1bkr I spent about 3 months at 29 Palms going to school in 84. Interesting place to say the least. Guessing it hasn't changed all that much. I remember having pay lines out on the parade field. We had to stand in line in order to get paid.
 
K.38, small world eh? When I got the assignment I was the youngest FM in SAC. 'Course they were pretty short handed at the time! Spent most of my time at Golf out of F.E. Warren with the 320th.
