Default A BLAST FROM THE PAST

There is an amazing wealth of information in older threads here
on the S&W Forum. Here is an example: Jordan-Herrett's
Holster Catalog October 1963.

Instead of being in Gun Leather & Carry Gear, as it should be,
I found it in the S&W Revolvers 1896-1961 forum. I pulled it
back up so you can look at it in the 1896-1961 forum now.

Herrett's did sell holsters for a while, and they were endorsed
by Bill Jordan. But what the promotional material does not
mention is that the holsters, belts, etc. were made by Chet
Hillman who did business as Chet's Holsters from Twin Falls,
Idaho.

If you have ever had difficulty sticking a Ranger style belt
through the holster belt loop you might appreciate the way
Chet's "Trimline Belt" is made. The billet lies in a recess so
that part, that is threaded through the loop, is thinner and
easier.

I clipped the photo below from a very old article about
Chet's Holsters.

I would move the thread over here to the Gun Leather Forum,
but that is above my pay grade, and besides I don't know how.

Have you ever had a struggle getting your ranger style belt through the
loop on a holster? I did just yesterday, and I remembered this very brief
thread from the past. Seems like a logical solution to that kind of problem,
but I don't know of any makers who are using this feature on their belts.
