Ankle Holsters and Shorts
I always thought of ankle holsters as something you would wear for concealed carry....does it look stupid to wear shorts with an ankle holster?

Yeah,
There's a few long tall Texas gals that can pull that deal off.

Yes, indeed.
Be safe.
PS:
I presume this was a question posed to elicit a stupid reply; thus guilty, as charged.

This is fashionably OK only is you're wearing black knee high sox, sandals, bright colored floweredy shirt, wide brim straw hat, and over sized sun glasses.

Actually... it might be a good ploy. People will definitely think you are crazy and leave you alone.

Well, I think you better try it out. So far all we have is sheer speculation.
Have someone take a picture of you, and post it. We'll give you our honest opinion based on the emperical evidence.
(I recommend a plaid sports jacket, a bowtie, some of those stylishly patterned boxers the younger fellas wear these days, and wingtips. Uh-huh.)

Yes sir, last time I was in Dallas, there were more than a few who could pull that deal off. More than one was 6’ tall with 5’ of shapely legs.

No, I would never do this. I saw in person someone wearing an ankle holster with khaki shorts and I thought he looked like a complete dork.
I was wondering if I was in the minority with that opinion; looks like I'm not alone.

Me too.
If'n you want to wear one with shorts you just need to wear a pair of big ol' cowboy boots to conceal your holster. Put the gun in an IWB holster though.

As a esteemed colleague and friend once commented walking down a concourse at DFW "I do believe there is one of them elusive blond haired, blue eyed, long legged double breasted Dallas homewreckers!"

To me it seems a moot point. Why worry about it when my arms are'nt long enough to use an ankle holster?

Actually ko41 is on to something. I spent so much time reflecting on his poorly coordinated attire that I never noticed the ankle holster.

Dang, lost points for no garters. I had thought about fashioning some out of black electrical tape as the elastic in the socks has lost its rebound and weren't staying up too well on their own.

Wearing an ankle holster with any style of shorts is a definite fashion faux pas.

Would wearing the ankle holster with shorts technically qualify as "concealed carry" if my stomach was large enough to prevent me from seeing the holster on my ankle?

Weeel, the 'shorts' I see some of the younger crowd wearing are only a inch or so shorter then 'long pants'. So it might work OK.

Glad I could be of service.
Some of the responses of family and friends to the photo and the question "Does it look stupid to wear shorts with an ankle holster?".
Personally I think that looks very fashionable.
That's sexier than socks on a rooster!
I now have a new picture for my computer desktop.
I think you could be a calendar guy contender for a Smith and Wesson promotional calendar.
As Mr. Foxworthy would say "YOU MIGHT BE A REDNECK!"
That is sooooooooooooo funny . Yep, I'd say its a warped since of humor.
When the wife says, “Do these pants make my butt look big?” I am always tempted to reply, “Honey, it’s not the pants.” ....Kevin, it’s not the holster!

I guess those -30 degree winters have finally taken their toll on the local population in MN, or maybe it's just the taxes. I'm betting the mosquitoes leave this guy alone! Is this guy from New Ulm???
