I was in a collector's type gun store last week and saw an original M-1912 .45 auto hoster in pretty sad shape. They wanted $250 for it. The repros here are very nice, and certainly a better buy for a realist who wears such items.

Aloha,

After seeing you wearing your creation, all I can say is WOW.

You look great in it.

Something I would expect to see in an Action/Adventure movie.

Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones can't even come close.

Now all you need is a movie to be in.

Wouldn't happen to have a horse to go with that would you?

Aloha and mahalo YogiBear.

Nope, I don't currently have a horse but my cousin and also my neighbor do. I'd like to get a horse again. Used to ride a lot. But they are a lot of upkeep. Feed, vet if necessary, making sure they are warm enough in the winter, cleaning out the stall, tearing up the grass with, etc. I can ride my cousins whenever I want.

Shaka!

Bill ... I checked out your handiwork again and am impressed. Practicality is in the eye of the beholder; if it works for you, that's what counts.

That's okay. I'm a diver and used to "falling overboard" and being "strapped".

Getting suited up to "fall overboard" .

Looks like I'm "strapped" again .

In an emergency, I'll just use a S&W 1917 barrel as a snorkel .

Sebago Son, if you think four handguns is a lot of weight, try getting in and out of the boat with that tank on your back plus an integrated weight belt BCD that by itself weighs almost 20lbs not counting the weight of the tank or tanks, dive knife, two regulators, wetsuit, mask, fins, dive boots, gloves, sometimes a speargun or any other equipment I might take with me. Sometimes I dive with two of those tanks (doubles) and when doing that, I sometimes climb back into the boat with two tanks too and sometimes if really tired I'll take them off and hand them up. Being in the water with all that weight is no problem because I can equalize the buoyancy of my BCD, but getting suited up on the boat to go overboard and then climbing back in afterwards, now that's some weight.

Try fighting a heavy current underwater in all that gear, keeping track of your air pressure gauge's time left plus your depth gauge, clearing your mask of water repeatedly while underwater and navigating underwater via my compass back to the boat "strapped" in all that gear when tired at the end of a long dive swimming with one hand while the other hand holds a net bag of scallops or a stringer of fish and a speargun while looking out for sharks. And I'm still doing this at the age of 58, as a disabled vet, with two titanium insert cages at L4/L5 between my spine vertebrae and with two bad knees that I've had two arthroscopic surgeries in each knee, plus I'm not quite as strong as I used to be. If my back and knees hurt after diving and frequently they do, I take my prescription for pain and tough it out. Four handguns weight wise is nothing compared to that unless someone is very weak from being either very old, handicapped somehow very badly physically, is a little child, or is just..... a plain wuss .

It's all about putting and looking at things in realistic perspective .

Without you being more specific, there are several definitions of what a "BUG" can be.

In Navy parlance....

1. Bug :
(Aviation) (1) (aka Plastic Bug) Term for the F/A-18 Hornet, so called due to the large percentage of aircraft structure made up of synthetic materials or composites rather than metal. (2) A heading indicator on a compass or Horizontal Situation Indicator (HSI).

Since I mentioned my underwater compass, and we aren't talking about the F18 Hornet, I figure you might mean what am I using for my compass? It's a Zeagle. My regs and BCD are also Zeagle.

In diver parlance "BUG" could also mean a lobster. If that is what you meant, then the answer for what I use for that is a "tickle stick" to get the lobster out of a hole or tight area and then put them in a net bag.

Not sure if that answered your question or not, but without you being more specific as to what you meant by "BUG" that's the best I can do.
