Default El Paso 1890 Original Holster for SAA... (W/Pic)

Hi folks!

So I figured I showed off the John Wayne holster rig I picked up off of EPS for my grandpa's K-38, I may as well show you all the setup I just picked up for the Colt SAA. This is the third and last piece I'm buying.... for now... lol

Details: I ordered the 1890 holster, lined with a border stamp and a matching 3" Money belt rough side in with matching border stampings. Came out to $373.50 Shipped. Placed the order on 3/07/2014, this arrived today 6/11/2014. Basically a 96 day turn around, or 3 months and 4 days from paid to being in my hands.

Really well made, appears to use two copper or copper washed rivets on the holster. Might be a challenge to keep them from turning green but that's ok! Also a question for the folks out there, what do they usually line these with? Just a different cut of leather or?

Anyways, this is meant to be my backup carry for hunting the Western Washington area where we don't see TOO many larger critters. And this rig will fit the bill for that work, Eastern Washington and further East will be left to the ol 500 magnum as a back up

Thanks for looking!

I just ordered a John Wayne holster (#44) for my Reeder custom Super Blackhawk. Living on the east side of the mountain from you, I carry the 454. The holster will be going on a rough out belt along with a Randall 23 that I re-handled with buffalo horn. I guess black micarta and buffalo horn are close enough for the field (?).

I believe El Paso Saddlery's standard lining (other than just leather lined) is pigskin. You can easily spot the pigskin-lined holsters because the lining has sort of a pale yellowish tint, and it usually overlaps the edge of the holster and is stitched in place. The belt loop is also lined on the exterior.

Some of their holsters, like their 1930 "Austin" holster come with a suede lining. I've never actually seen one "in person", but think I'm going to order one for one of my .45 semi-autos. I actually prefer suede linings.

You know I was trying to order an IWB Jframe holster from there today and looks like their website is down for some reason... hopefully they can honor that sale after the expiration date!!

Thanks for the code!
