George Lawrence Sholder holster
Hi All:
I just recently acquired this Lawrence sholder holster. It is the first sholder holster I have ever had, and don't know a thing about how sholder holsters work, how to adjust them, or use them. I want to fit this one with the cloth strap needed, but after adding it don't know how it fits the body. also the bottom of the holster has two holes, to tie it down, I assume, but don't know what the fitting looks like. My Lawrence catalogue, on disk is the #40and dosn't show a #9 sholder holster. Also the holster has a spring tention holder that won't accept a j size 2" snubby. Could it possibily be made to fit a lemmonsqueezer size revolver?
I know that is a lot of questions, but can you experts help an old inexperienced Poop with the expertice to set this rig up, and how to use it?
Thanks. Chubbo

The strap you have is an adapter that would allow use of a belt holster as a shoulder holster.
Dont know about the holster. Looks to be for an autoloader. What are the markings on it?

Chubbo, there appears to be a 3-digit fit code number under the Lawrence logo impressed on the back of the belt loop. That will tell us what it fits.
The holes at the bottom of the holster are for a tie-down that attaches to the trousers belt or belt loop to keep the holster in place while drawing. As to how the shoulder straps work, that's a bit too complicated to explain in print. Your best bet is searching for pictures on the 'net showing how they're worn.

Ironhead:
The markings on the back of the holster are, Top is a #9, and the bottom
the numbers 582. I am also trying to find 3/4" white cotton strapping & buckles to make the straps to make the unit complete. Since you mentioned that the holster was probably for an auto pistol, I tried my OMC -Back Up- .380 pistol in the holster, and bingo! It fits perfect. Thanks.
