Default SD Myres Holster Find

Found this at the Birmingham, AL AGCA gun show this past weekend. When I picked it up to look at it the guy behind the table barked "15 bucks!". So I took out $15 and gave it to him. It looked to me like it would fit a Smith 4" K frame or maybe a Colt .38 OP or PP. Since I have a lot of K frames surely one would fit it, right? Long story short it fits a Model 19 4" perfectly. Too bad I have a 6" Model 19. I guess I'll have to get a 4" 19. Life can be tough sometimes. BTW, anybody know what the OP stands for? Is it the Myres catalog number for this holster? At first I thought it meant for the Colt Official Police but I tried an OP but it didn't fit right. Also what would be the best way to clean this holster? It does seem a little dirty and dry. Thanks.

Keith

I've used Blue Wonder Leather Care with good results. It seems to nourish the leather without taking the stiffness out of the holster. Here's a link:LeatherCare3 Blue Wonder Gun Care Products - Cleaner, Bluing and Protection

The OP stamping almost certainly denotes (Colt) Official Police but if another gun was carried in the holster, the leather, over time, may have formed itself to fit a different frame.

OP looks as though poss stamped free-handed, poss by the owner? Maybe his initials?

Sometimes hard to find (usually tack stores) but I use Horseman's Saddle Dressing. Preserves but does not soften (not a good thing for holsters or knife sheaths!) If you have ever seen an old saddle, you know how nice it makes your leather goods look.
