New Lobo Gun Leather Holster
Ray has made about a half dozen holsters for me over the last 5 years. Several were for my Smith's, and one for my Kimber Ultra Carry II.
Yesterday I received a new Md. 1 Pancake Holster for my part time carry Taurus PT709 SLIM. I know, "A Taurus on a Smith forum????" That being said, I just wanted to show you the great work Ray does regardless of firearm brand.
Here are few pictures of Ray's superb work.....

The gunbelt is B8 Lobo I have been wearing for the last 2 years.....

That is a nice basic carry rig. I prefer carrying my snubby in an open top pancake holster.
I agree with Eaglestroker on the white stitching on black look.

in these pictures it looks as if the leather is form in such a way that it goes in at the trigger guard, it looks like this could cause an AD when re-holstering of a strike fired gun with no safety. Is it just me or does it look that way to others?

It appears as though you have never seen a holster made by Lobo Gun Leather. There is at least 1/8" of clearance on each side of the trigger. My gun may be a stricker fired pistol, but it has a manual safety that is very positive.
I only posted the picture of this holster because Ray at Lobo Gun Leather is a respected member of this forum and a great holster maker. He made holsters for 2 S&W pistols that I owned a few years back. He made the holster I carry my Kimber Ultra Carry II .45acp in. He made the holster pictured in the first post of this string. It is his first holster made to fit a Taurus PT709.
I have no worries about having an AD with his design. Also, like I stated, my 709 has a (VERY POSTIVE) manual safety.

No disrespect for you or Ray and hope I didn't come across that way, it may just be the angle of the picture. You are right I have never seen a holster made by LOBO leather, This may change soon as I am giving it some serious though for the new shield.

I've got a Lobo enhanced pancake for my 9c and it's a dream to carry OWB. I strayed and picked up a Garrett industries OWB for the shield... after 1 day of carrying with it I sent it back... And the day after that I put in an order for another Lobo enhanced pancake. Ray's holsters are no joke... the most comfortable holsters I've ever worn, and incredibly concealable as well.
Never an issue with the trigger coming in contact with the holster... the leather is rigid, and the trigger guard guides any part of the holster away from the trigger so that there isn't even a remote possibility of an AD. Ray knows his stuff. As many others from this forum, I highly recommend picking a Lobo holster up when you get your shield.

That makes 2 of us. Currently have my 9c in my lobo now... I can not wait for the comfort of the Shield in one. I'm sure that I will quite literally forget it's there.

I have forgotten my 40c was with me in a Milt Sparks, I am sure that the shield in the lobo will be easier to forget it's on me.

TLG,
I have the same model form my 640 and like Ray's work a lot. What are your thoughts on the belt? Does it make a difference over a regular, single-thickness belt?
Thanks

Most you talk with that have bit the bullet agree that a belt is as important as the holster especially with the heavier guns. You won't go wrong taking that plunge. With or without a gun a double layer belt is superior for daily use and will hold up better/longer than anything I've seen bought from the store.

A quality heavy gun belt is just as important as the holster you're carrying with. It truly does make all of the difference in the world.

I've had my Lobo made belt sense 2012. It is an excellent made belt for holster carry. I've used it the last 2 years to carry my Kimber Ultra Carry II. (I carry it in a Lobo md.1 pancake holster.) I had several other "so called" police belts that soon fell apart.
Ray's belts are made to last!!!!! As a matter of fact, it the only belt I have at present. In 2 years it shows hardly any wear.....
