Safariland ISWB holster
I own an M&P Sheild 9mm, with a Safariland ISWB holster.
For the first time today, in ages, I left the house with my gun and my holster. I was wearing jeans, and a common everyday belt.
I felt like a street thug! Why? My jeans felt like they kept falling down, and almost ready to show my boxers!
Honestly, am I simply wearing the holster wrong? Or, am I to expect a certain amount of dropage due to the weight of the gun and the holster?
If I can figure this out, I may start to take my gun with me more often when I leave the house...
Thanks in advance
Ivan

Looks more like a paddle holster than an IWB holster. Makes no difference for the solution.
A real gun belt is always better but those can also let the pants drop down some if the belt isn't tight enough. But if the belt is too tight it becomes uncomfortable.
My solution is to wear Perry suspenders under my untucked knit shirt. The Perry's attach to the underside of the belt. My pants don't fall and I don't have to overly tighten the belt. I also wear a proper gun belt in 1.25" or 1.5"

Best guess is that it's your belt. Can you fold the belt over? (top over to the bottom.)
Check out member Snubbyfan's work. I have several items from him and I'm very impressed with the work.

Maybe that's the thing. I guess it is a paddle holster. Maybe I'll look for a true IWB.
Those fit better, no?

The first holster that the gun is in, I think that will do!

No, IWB will not necessarily fit better. IWB will conceal better. BUT, it has to fit properly inside the waistband of your trousers in order to be comfortable. You might need one size larger pants for it to work. When I take off my gun and belt my trousers are loose enough that they will fall down. Generally speaking you might need the next size pants to make it work.
Kydex and leather can both work equally well. I find little difference in comfort but have settled on only leather in recent years. Quality leather will last longer and be a little gentler on the gun. There are still times I will dig out an old kydex holster if I know I will have to remove the gun during the day but keep the holster inside the waistband.

You need both a proper iwb holster and a proper gun belt. That does look like it's just a typical paddle holster.
Actually it looks like a Safariland ALS paddle holster.
For a belt I personally prefer a double layer full grain leather belt.

It'll go a long way toward holding up your trousers and prevent that "gangsta" look.

Safariland ISWB holster
Silly me! I just realized that this Safariland model has two options. The Paddle and the belt option. I may switch and see how that works.
I also have one of those pouches that is truly inside the waist band, but doesn't have any catch for the belt or waist. The material of it prevents it from slipping between my body and my trousers. I should try that for a day or two, too.

You must be speaking of a Remora holster.

You might want to check IWB's made by Comp-Tac . I got the Merc IWB for my Shield. Love it!
Inside the Waistband | Comp-Tac Victory Gear
Good Luck.
