Need A Holster Maker
I posted this in the Concealed Carry forum and it was suggested that it be posted here so here goes.
I found the below photo of a "Wallet Holster" and I like the idea of it very much. The main thing I like is the fact that, with the flap closed, the gun is completely concealed. It can be placed in a hip pocket like a "wallet" and even if it sticks out a little the gun is still totally concealed.
In the other thread some weak points were pointed out that make some sense. All I can say is that as long as the basic function of totally concealing the gun is there I am open to design change suggestions.
So, any leather guys, and I know there are some very good ones here, please take a look.
Thanks,
Bob

Rodek Leather Works, Inc. - Holsters
That should be simple enough to make. Give Ed a call and send him the picture. Ed does custom work. Real nice guy to work with.

A cautionary note, have recently heard somewhere that the ATF has added these to their prohibited list, you might want to check that to see if it is a fact.

Questionable Need
There is a long-standing federal prohibition against disguised weapons such as a cartridge-firing walking cane. However, I think the depicted design may be exempt because it is nothing more than a holster with a flap. You cannot shoot though the holster as is the case with models that have a cutout for the trigger finger.
However, as depicted, this is a pickpocket's delight and also would be rather slow to deploy if needed. The shoot-through models are much faster but I suspect they may indeed be banned as lawandorder said.

The prohibition is against wallet holsters that have a cut out so they can be fired from the holster. What the OP is looking for does not have such a feature and is nothing more than a gun case that fits in his pocket.

I don't see this as any different from the "Sneaky Pete" design, except one is carried on the belt and the other in a pocket. The photo of the holster the OP wants looks impractical to me. I can't imagine trying to unsnap it in a hurry or quietly. Maybe magnets, instead of snaps?
