Summer Pocket Carry
For the past week I've had to/been carrying my J-frame 337PD in an Uncle Mike's pocket holster in my Cabela's cargo/hiking shorts........forgot how much of a PITA it is.......
just the gun and speed strip alone.......... it's OK.....
But add a pocket knife, keys, wallet, money clip and single AAA flashlight........... and it is a PITA.... not the weight but the bulk
I'm missing my 3913.........IWB and Safariland horizontal mag holder

I have some Rustic Ridge cargo shorts that have enough pockets for all that stuff. I just carry a J frame in a Nemesis holster, a speed strip, wallets, and car keys. So I have pockets left over.
Rustic Ridge appears to be a house brand of Sportsman's Warehouse.

When I pocket carry a pistol, nothing else goes in that pocket. If you are looking for an easy iwb option that adds no noticeable weight or bulk check out Aegis Armory's triggerguard holster. Can be tethered to your belt or belt loop with the lanyard. This is the only way I carry my S&W and Sig now.

Bam-Bam, that's why cargo pockets were invented. That and I put my keys and flashlight on my belt.
Or you could get a man purse.
gdogs, those are interesting "holsters" I guess you have to wear your belt a little tighter than normal IWB?

This is going to sound harsh, but here goes. Sounds like the problem is not the firearm and reload, but the other items I know you've been carrying for years. Lose the knife and the flashlight (I know they're important to you and many others). If you carry pocket change, get rid of that, too. It has no value except rolled in bulk. We're in cars most of the time anyway, the knife and flash can go in the glovebox.
This is my take, what I would do.

TRUE.......

Hey the knife and flashlight are the items I "use" most!!!! Won't do me any good in the glovebox......
This is my take, what I would do.

I agree with this.
I never carry a flashlight unless I'm going to be out after dark. No point in carrying it all the time. And if I know I'm going to be out for an extended time in the dark, I carry a big flashlight -- like 2 D cells or better.
As for a knife, I don't see a huge point in carrying a knife. If you have a gun, are you really going get into a knife fight to defend yourself?
In generally I only carry a knife if I'm going camping and then it's not for defense, it's for cutting a piece of rope or use as a eating utensil or cutting a stick for marshmallow roasting or something like that.
I used to carry a comb, but I solve that problem by getting a really short buzz cut. No comb needed anymore. There is nothing left to comb.

I stopped carrying a pocket knife and other stuff in the summer too, just not enough pockets. I have started wearing light short sleeve shirts with two patch breast pockets that button for other stuff.

That's FOR SURE!!!!!!!!!!! I can't imagine loading the same pocket with a knife or keys or a flashlight. That's why they gave you the other pockets!
You can do this:

That's a choice. But I'm old, chubby, and even if I went out in shorts and a T-shirt I could carry my 642 in my front pocket, my wallet in my back pocket, my identification case (yes, I carry two wallets - long story for another time) in my other back pocket, and keys and money and even a pocket knife in my other front pocket. And that's just 4 pockets - it doesn't even include what I could easily carry in cargo shorts WITHOUT putting anything near my EDC handgun.
And that's in Texas heat, too!
I don't want to sound harsh, and I do agree with kaaskopf, and I do think you have your pocket priorities all wrong.

Same here. The Surefire light only comes off the nightstand when I go out at night. Since my current assignment involves a lot of time in the back of our two jails interviewing inmates and staff, I quit carrying a knife on my person some time ago. Pocket carry for me is for a backup J-frame or, rarely a Glock 27. The J-frame is much more suited to this type of carry.

I've been wearing this lately...
The 649 fits, too, but the Sig is lighter...

Guys,
If,I want to carry lighter than my 642 I carry a 351 PD.If I want to carry OWB It's a Glock 30s or a Kimber pro carry.I "always" have a knife.I have carried a knife since I was 5yrs.old.You have no idea how many times I have used my knife daily, just helped a woman who was trying to cut a taped box open with a "key"!!

The way I carry the year around is my Bianchi nylon fanny pack with secret holster. I carry my CS 45, two extra mags, badge on a chain/clip, lightweight cuffs, and yes a one CR123 cell Streamlight. I carry a knife in my pocket, and a Gerber tac pen in my shirt pocket classes case. I look like a perfect target for a mugging, walk slow with a hardwood cane. Oh will they get a surprise if they try it.
