My first attempt at a flap holster...
...and my first attempt at lacing. You'll notice an extra hole. I grossly mis-estimated where the snap should go.
I found it difficult to discern the desired shape and size of the flap. Your critiques, criticisms, and suggestions are more than welcome. I think this is how we improve. Thanks for looking.

Well, I think for a first attempt that's a very good job.

An outer snap in that hole might look better... ...Ben

Looks pretty good to me.
One thing I prefer to do, if there's a snap, is to set the snap on a separate hunk of leather and stitch that on. Keeps the back of the snap from contacting the finish of the gun. I do it with knife sheaths too.
A coupla other things, for personal esthetics is I use my border stamp the other way around.
And I like 'em kinda shiny so I after topcoat, I buff the finish.
As far as the extra hole, I probably woulda stitched an extra strap or something on the flap to make it look like I did that on purpose and it was all part of the design.
