Beautiful Mernickle Holster! Very Impressed
Well here is my Mernickle P6 Concealed Carry Performance Series OWB holster that just showed up today:
Mernickle Custom Holsters - Performance Series
It is designed to ride high and nice and tight into the body. And it indeed works as advertised. In fact, much better than any other high-ride OWB holster I have ever tried with any gun. I'm very impressed!
It is also a beautiful design I selected, it is called Stingray. It was $130 and worth every penny. This will be my new main carry holster for my every day carry Five Seven.
I live in South Florida and I wear shorts and a button up short sleeve shirt most every day. So it is easy for me to carry OWB. But when I wear a regular T Shirt or Tank Top I will carry IWB in my Tucker Gunleather Cover Up Plus, which has been my excellent daily carry holster for my Five Seven thus far.
If you are looking for a high ride holster that rides tight to the body for any semi or revolver, definitely take a look at Mernickle. Very impressed.

It is actually my second Mernickle. I received this one for my S&W 65 LadySmith last week. A bit plain jane, but super well done too. Rides nice and high and tight as well.

Very nice rig!
Thinking of getting one for my (soon to be) M22 and another for my Ruger Blackhawk.

Lovely craftsmanship, but the rest of my commentary will hurt some feelings, and for that I apologise. But my mission on holster forums is to raise expectations amongst both makers and users, to the high level of the today's state of the art.
A concealment belt holster, when it is working at maximum effectiveness, will hug the torso so closely that a sheet of paper placed between holstered pistol and torso will crinkle from the pressure. The OP's holster pic, which at least is a testament to his fitness, has quite a significant gap there:
mernickle.jpg
Whereas using the same construction method for the holster, which I call "half pipe", this comparable holster leaves no gap and in fact passes the paper test, too:

It is especially difficult for holster designers, and then their makers, to control 'twist', or what on a car would be called "toe": the automatic tendency for either the grip, or the rear sight, to pull in at the expense of the other sticking out. It's difficult because there's more to a holster than merely being a pocket with loops on it, at least in the modern era.
The remaining pics from the series, show that the rear sight and grip are balanced, too:

Beautiful holster! I respectfully disagree with with rednichols comment. Hugging the torso so closely would not only crinkle a sheet of paper, it would also be a little more difficult to wrap your fingers around the stock, impeding your draw speed. The "significant" gap actually helps you get a shooting grip with your hands first contact with the gun's stock. Split seconds count.

Here in the USA, we have a product to remedy this gap situation. Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

Wearing mine to church today with my Les Baer PII. Probably the most comfortable rig I have. I was optimistic from the beginning, but it's much more than I could have imagined. Here's the one I have along with the belt and mag holder :

I agree with Mr. Nichols. I noticed that "toe-out" immediately as a feature on another holster in my accumulation that I don't like for concealment. I need one that pulls both front and back in as much as possible. That said, I've always liked the looks of Mernickle's designs and I'd be proud to own some of his work.

Rednichols,
I understand what you are talking about, but it looks to me like he might not have his belt tightened sufficiently. One or two holes tighter might just pull it in.

My bad for not posting a better picture, but anyone above who said the holster does not ride as tight to the body as it should, is totally off base. Again my bad on the picture and my belt was about two notches too loose.
Here is a proper picture. It would be impossible for it to ride any higher to tighter. In fact if anyone has a holster that rides as high and is tighter to the body than this holster I would love to see a pic.
Further, the inside of the holster also has a flap that acts as an anchor. The flap goes in between your pants and belt and ensures it stays tight. A brilliant feature.

I read the original post several days ago, and thought, well good, somebody got a nice holster.
Fact is, I ordered, in person from Bob Merneckle and wife, a holster for my M66 snub a couple years ago while at the Reno gunshow. Bob insured me that the holster would have a "tight" fit and I wouldn't need a retaining strap. You see, I ride horses and ATV's and don't want a revolver falling out of the holster. Very expensive holster, really nicely made, fully engraved with floral design, etc. No complaints on workmanship, but I can't even sit in my pickup without it falling out of the holster. I am very dissatiffied with the holster and will not buy one of their products again.

I had the same issue with a performance series holster I ordered for a Colt SAA. I too ride horses and wish to have holster for the old thumb buster that was concealable under a jacket. Fit is too loose and gun will fall out of the holster if actively moving around. Hesitant to buy one for my S&W revolvers.

I'm pretty happy with mine:
One of three I have. None are loose; in fact, the draw has to be pretty straight up to work.

Harris, thanks for the additional pictures.
The thing I was describing is how there seems to be a "gap", for lack of a better word, up where the slide seems to be held out from touching your side. Of course, that could be from you just being so doggone thin.
If you say it works, that's good enough for me. Hope you enjoy it!

I now have 2 Mernickle holsters. The one above for my Five Seven and the one above for my S&W 65 LadySmith. The guns are very snug in the holster and there is no chance of them falling out on their own.
I practice yoga and test all my new holsters by doing a headstand and handstand. I hold these upside-down poses for 2 minutes each. The guns don't budge from the holster. A firm pull with my hand is the only way the guns are coming out.
I assure you had you called Bob when you received the holster and told him the gun was falling out, he would have made it right. Not sure why you didn't do that in the first place when you received it.
I have found that in the firearms industry anytime I have received a product that did not perform to expectations, when I contact the manufacturer they bend over backwards to make it right. Some really good folks in this industry. More so than many other industries I have dealt with.

Probably should have but at the time had other things going on and thus it ended up in the bin full of surplus holsters. I personally wasn't upset with the company as I've seen great examples of their work. I just chalked it up to a flawed design and moved on. Glad that it all worked out for you!
Regards
