Very soon now, I will be changing my primary carry gun, to a Springfield PX9115LP 1911 Operator Champion 7+1 45ACP 4". This is a Commander Size 1911.

I am looking for a true, no belt loop, paddle holster. I will appreciate recommendation on which brand and model has worked well for you.

The best of the paddles, and the best of the paddle holster, are those made by Elite Systems and by Aker Leather. In both cases the paddle is my original twin-barb design, and in both cases the holster are my designs for them, too. In the past the very different paddle and holster that I did for DeSantis was even better but the company long ago stopped producing it.

Have you looked through the humongous list and photos of holsters posted by robbt on the current page 1 of today's posts? Seems like he listed over 100 holsters, but I don't recall seeing any paddle holsters. I just bought a Safariland 567/568 for my N-frame. One is true paddle, but it is inter-changeable with a belt loop. It is big for my N-frame, but is a very nice holster.

I use the Kramer MSP as I think it is the finest paddle holster out there...you don't HAVE to use the belt loop...not a cheap solution, but among the very best available.

I believe El Paso Saddlery also makes a paddle called the Conceal Pro paddle.

As a side note you might think of using Wilson Combat 47D mags, they hold 8 rounds. I use them in my 1911 Commander.

I've received quite a few compliments on this one from Rafter S Leather (no longer in business :(). It's a full quill ostrich with alligator trim and matching alligator mag holder. Kinda fancy, and pricey too,but what the heck,we have lots of BBQ's around here. :D The .38 Super Combat Commander wears amboyna burl stocks to complete the rig.

My Springfield Champion Operator Lightweight came with Israeli-made paddle holster and beltloop mag holder. The holster is labelled as "Springfield Armory 1911-PH1" in their "11 Gear" line. It is a minimalist holster and works well with other 1911 pistols that have rails, and some that don't. Won't fit Sigs. Holds the guns completely secure.
