Default N Frame Chest Holster

I'll be hog hunting (rifle) in about 6 weeks and would really like to have my 327 TRR8 with me as a back up. Chest rig would be ideal. However, as you can probably guess 8 shot revolvers and 5 inch barrels aren't common enough to make finding something off the shelf very easy. Has anyone found a chest rig they like that would fit a TRR8?

I have two of the Military type chest holsters for 1911's and S&W M&P Revolvers (purchased solely for SASS "Wild Bunch" matches) and find them to only be bearable if worn on top of a jacket or heavy sweat shirt. I would imagine the more expensive quality made hunting rigs are a much more comfortable design.

I'll either get it or the Chesty Puller rig which is also has some advantages.

Default Diamond D Custom Holsters

I have one of his Guides Choice holsters for my 629 Mt Gun and I'm very happy with it. You may want to check out his web site or email him to see if he make one for you gun. Good luck.

Blade Tech makes a couple of belt holsters for a TRR8 - one for competition and another for regular duty. They are usually in stock.

Alessi makes two shoulder holsters for a TRR8 - vertical with a pivot and horizontal. Both are very comfortable, and the horizontal easily concealable. Both work with under a jacket or on top, with a backpack. They take about 10 weeks for delivery, however.

I use the El Paso tanker model chest rig for my 5" N frames. Only 6 shots though but if you'll call El Paso to discuss (the larger cylinder) they will accommodate you.

Does anyone have experience with the Barranti Universal Chest Rig?

It is a system designed to convert a strong-side holster into a chest rig.

I've got several of the Diamond D chest rigs and couldn't be happier. I've got one for my 460PC with/without scope, 3" N Frame and even my Sig P220 10mm. Great products!

Another vote for one of Rob Leahy's Chesty Puller rigs. I have one, you can trade holsters out for whichever gun you want to carry, and you can adapt holsters other than pancake rigs to work. I use mine for my Rugers and my Smiths when I'm walkin' in the woods....
