Well, as long as this thread is still growing, here are a couple more.
A pair of Berns-Martin Lightnin’ holsters. The carved one belonged to
Flora Van Orden of Evaluators Ltd. I ordered the black one when I was
16.
Three Heiser I/J frame holsters.
Regards,
turnerriver

My last five acquisitions of vintage J-Frame holsters, left to right:
Bianchi Suede clip-on IWB. It is still in production, but I think it has
been around long enough to be considered vintage.
I looked long and hard for this Roy Baker Pancake because I wanted
an open top, which I found out is semi-rare. This one has an extra
inch length, but my friend Red put a positive spin on it saying "The
over-length enables it to stand up rather than tip over with all the weight
above the belt."
Safariland model 16 was on my wanted list for a long time, but I finally
found this one. Just what I wanted.
Idaho Leather with a Charter Undercover on board. My J frame has
the hammer concealed so what would I do with the strap?
Strong pocket holster. When I initially posted this one, there were
some critics who pointed out that the gun is too big for the holster,
and the open trigger guard. They are right, but it works for me.

I found another interesting holster. A shoulder holster that can be easily changed to work on the other shoulder. Made by PISTOLPACKAGING.COM / Larry & Sandy Saukko, 5350 Pioneer Creek Drive, Maple Plain, MN 55359.
It is called TRI-VERTIBLE Ambidextrous Holster. I am not giving up my Bianchi 9R but this one is cleaver. The over the shoulder harness is an open web and web stabilizing strap ends with a neat catch that holds on to the strong side pants or belt.

I found a number of 2" J frame holsters that I have not seen in a while. The first that I found was a Buchiemer Clark L. A. Calif Marked 37A-11 and FBI.
Another is a Smith & Wesson model 02 size 62.
And a Don Hume J I T SLIDE NO. 52.

These Bucheimers may work and were of the era you asked about. The Concealer, Perfect Fit and Combat holster. The SP 101 shown in the Combat holster is too big for it.

Hunter Snap
I'd show my vintage J Hunter, but the base of the snap for the gun securing strap has fallen off.
Anyone know who can fix this without replacing the Hunter logo snap head?
Unfortunately, Hunter no longer uses their long-term logo with "Hunter" contained in a powder horn.

Doc Barranti, a member here, did a fix for another member who
had a similar snap problem a while back. You might send Doc
a PM and ask.

If the "male" side is what fell off a you may be able use a Tandy snap and do it yourself. I got a bag of snaps and the tools to repair a snap for a Bucheimer very cheaply(@$15) online. The Tandy "female" side mated perfectly with the snap head that was on the Bucheimer.

Better late than never!
Most of these are over 20 years old, so I'm hoping they count as vintage.
Pocket holsters by Milt Sparks, Kramer, Alessi and Pachmayr.
IWB's - (2) Sparks and an Alessi
Belt holsters - Convertible by Mustang Leather, Thompson Leather, Rhodes, 1964 USPO and a Bucheimer Clark Marshal
Alessi, S&W and Galco shoulder rigs
... and a Hume with a leather paddle.

comfortable, so I am going to find out.

I find the same holster comfortable AIWB carrying a SP101. I also have an older bianchi suede with a narrower metal clip that is more comfortable but the clip's not as strong. I bought another cheap on ebay and it turned out to be for a K frame.

Got a couple of mine together for photos...
Here's a Rogers paddle holster, made of a single piece of some sort of plastic with a "suede" liner glued in.

...And a Bucheimer Model B1025 "Semi-Shoulder." This one is actually for a K-frame or Colt Detective Special, but I have the B1015 J-size in the holster box and they look the same anyway, so I put the one that was easy to find in here. This one works fine with a J-frame, too.

I have one very much like yours, except mine is by Brauer Bros.
Here it is with a J Frame (642-1) But it is flexible enough for
Det. Spl. (Agent), and even snub nosed Model 10 K Frame.

Ger, you need to attach the bottom half of the Semi Should B1025 to really show how unusual they are. Without the bottom it looks kinda like an B825, standard belt type.

Yessir. They are indeed. I've never gotten the hang of using one as designed. I can't tighten my belt enough to keep it from tipping over!

I don't think there is a way to keep it from tipping out. That is
the flaw with the style. I just filed that bottom part of my
holster in the round file.

s&wchad I'm interested in that dog ear holster you show in
your post. I guess it's the Rhodes. Do you know any more
about the maker? I collect dog ears and have never encountered
Rhodes before.

W. R. Rhodes was a saddle maker out of Kansas City Missouri. From what little I’ve been able find, he was active in the 20’s and 30’s.
I suspect it was made for a 3-1/4” I frame, bit it fits my 317-1 nicely!

Thanks for that Chad. He wouldn't be around
nowadays, so I'll just watch the auctions for
his name.

2. Bucheimer Sheriff crossdraw. You would want size 32-11
3. Wally Wolfram made the Wolf brand (left) and Blazer (right).
4. An old Reyes I found on ebay. ($16 shipped)
5. The Reyes from #4 after I rehabbed it. It fits model 10 2"
but just for the idea, you might find an old holster for a J Frame
and clean & fix it up.

These were pretty representative of the time. In addition, I carried my j-frames in ankle holsters (for on-duty back-up and some off-duty) and in pancake-type holsters. I was never much on pocket carry. I remember carrying the old Model 60 (still in my safe) a vast majority of the time. If I needed to go a little bigger, I would carry a 2.5" 19 or 66 OWB. Simpler time.
PS: I was also pretty partial to the Bianchi or S&W "Bullet" type inverted shoulder rig for some carry situations. I think I still have a couple of those around here, somewhere.

I really like this J Frame thread. Thank you Jay Framer for starting it.
I was re-visiting it this morning and found a few things that I can update:
Red mentioned Chic Gaylord's holsters should be included. Not too long
after, my friend turnerriver found a treasure trove of Gaylords and Seventrees,
and generously let luckyphil have one of each. The Seventrees is for a 4"
K Frame, but the Gaylord is shown below left with my 642-1.
Jimmy mentioned the Lewis L.A. Police holster. I just happen to have
one. It was made for the 2" Model 10 shown 2nd from left. Looks a
lot like Bucheimer-Clark's Sheriff, except for spring length.
3rd from left is a holster that Safariland called their Model 16 Hi-Ride Agent.
I don't know the vintage, but I cut an ad out of an old gun
magazine, and watched for one a long time. In the ad a basket weave
model was $7.95, so it was probably back in this thread's time period.
Shown with my 642-1.
4th from left is Roy Baker's pancake. It was made for a J Frame, but I
have found that Colt's Agent is a much better fit. Maybe the previous
owner stretched it a wee bit. I prefer the open top on my concealment
holsters, so I searched quite a long time for this one. As you can see, it
was made for a 3" barrel. My friend Red pointed out to me that's a good
thing. With the cylinder above the belt, the gun would tend to tip outward.
The extra inch in length tends to help prevent the tipping.
SORRY FOR THE DUPLICATIONS. I only re-read the first page this morning,
and discovered after that the thread goes on and on. Getting senile is no fun.

The upside down shoulder holster has been popular since Berns-Martin introduced the Lighting. There are several examples of that holster in this thread. It is a very comfortable way to carry a j frame revolver.
This is the first generation of the BIANCHI #9 with elastic closure. A good friend told me of his embarrassing experience of chasing his 2" model 36 across the dance floor at his club when his dancing got too much for the holster retention. He immediately ordered a second generation BIANCHI #9-R with the spring closure. He wore this holster daily for over 25 years without a problem. This is the holster but possibly the straps have been replaced. It still works well.
Since I like 3" j frames I bought this BIANCHI model # 9R1 holster that works well. The belt loops on both sides may be a plus for some owners but I have never felt the necessity of wearing it as a belt holster.
Of course there is always another holster maker that will copy anything that works. I recently got this Elastic Closure Shoulder holster marked FRISBIE PORTLAND, ORE

amatuer re-lacing job by me.
If you haven't done so, I would look at the offerings by robbt here on this forum - accessories for sale.

You can find number one above on ebay frequently for $20 or less. I have used one frequently for more than 30 years and they work fine.

Now you know the true origin of the old wive's tale, 'get a good gunbelt'. The Semi-Shoulder holster absolutely relies on a very wide, very stiff gunbelt to keep it upright.
It was an easy prescription in the '70s because the Hippie generation wore wide cowhide belts in big-loop jeans. If one needs any one of the three -- a Hippie, a wide gunblet, or a pair of jeans -- then your holster is poorly designed to have a too-high center of gravity.

That genuine Herrett's holster was made by Chet Hillman who
did business as Chet's Holsters, also in Twin Falls, Idaho. You
probably have his Trim Line sales brochure?

I have had and used the BIANCHI model 6 IWB holsters in various sizes but mostly for J frames for more years than I want to think about. This Bianchi International model 6 for a 3" J frame I have used for about 30 years.

John Witty: You show a Herrett holster in one of your posts.
I know about Herrett's grips but nothing about the holsters.
Can you provide any info about them.

Chet Hillman was a holster maker in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Business name was Chet's Holsters. He made the holsters
for Herrett's. He & his company are no more, but you might
find something about them on Google.
He did have a belt he made called a Trim Line, that I thought
was a brilliant idea.
Here is a photo:
John will probably be along shortly and he may have a
catalog from Chet's Holsters and/or Herrett's Holsters.

Thanks Phil:
I started buying from Gil Hebard guns in early 1970s and he carried Herrett
grips but I have never seen ads for the holster.

Toyman, be careful what you ask for, you may get more than you want to know.
This is most of a Herrett’s catalog from I believe 1963. Featuring the Jordan holster and belt as “endorsed...by Bill Jordan”. “Holstory” states that Herett’s marketed the Jordan holster, made by Chet’s Holsters, for a brief period in the 1960’s.
The little holster I showed is the Off Duty version.

turnerriver
I personally love seeing this kind of stuff. My kid (ebay savvy) thought I was nuts when I asked him to buy me a copy of a 1976 book by John Bianchi for $10. Guess I have some sort of leather fetish. The wife just shakes her head when packages show up here---let me guess another holster (you will have to imagine the rolling eyeballs). I certainly hope what you have shown us and whatever else you have in similar vintage stuff, does not get tossed in the trash ever---if fact, you are more than welcome to send it to me for safe keeping should you ever decide it is time to pass it along to someone that will appreciate it.

Wondering if anyone might have leather made by this guy? I watched this belt in a gun store for about 6 months and thought about it a few times, until one day I walked in an it was gone. Guess he was a local saddle maker that also made a few belts and holsters. Would love to hear some stories or see more of his stuff if anyone has some to share.

I know this pair is somewhat of a collectors item since they were close to the end of his revolver holster making days. Andy Arratoonian---Horseshoe Leather from across the pond in England. I ordered these when I bought my first 442 sometime in the mid 80's. Mailed off the money and waited almost a year. I could not choose which one I wanted, so ordered both knowing the lead time. Certainly glad I did, because once I had them I wanted another, and he would no longer make them for revolvers. Not sure he is still working or even still above ground. Last I checked he was no longer accepting orders due to health issues. These long ago became my favorite "go to" conceal carry holsters. Not really vintage yet, but figured I would share the photo.
I checked his web site and even battling Parkinsons and knocking on 85 years old, he is still making high quality leather holsters. Sadly he is no long accepting orders, but still making them to clear up his backlog. Sure wish he had trained an apprentice.
