Old snubie holster
In the mid 70s I was a Regional Supervisor for the State Narcotics responsible for 24 counties in North West Mississippi. A Police Officer with the Cleveland PD, Mr R. C. Boatman was making holsters as a sideline.
I had him make this holster and ammo carrier for my issue model 60. Supervisors were also issued a 4 in model 66. I furnished him my weapon to use as a guide and to form the leather.
He asked how I wanted it and I told him high as possible with a forward rake. I carry far on my back right over the right rear pocket. The shank slips inside the pants and the strap snaps around the belt.
I paid $15 for the holster and $5 for the carrier then added $5 for basket weave for both. Not a bad $20 investment.
When I left Narcotic I kept the holster and years later rescued the pictured Chief Special from a Pawn shop in bad shape. After having all the springs replaced and a flat matt blue job then install the old Mustang grips bought on Ebay. The weapon is a square butt but can't tell with these grips. The speed strip is an old Bianchi ( 6 shoot that's one spare round for me) and I have several round reloader also.
Still carry this when not carrying my 2 1/2 model 686. The embossed name on holster and carrier says Made By R.C. Boatman, Leather Shop, Cleveland, Miss.
What you think ?

I think that once more it's proven that there are quality makers I've never heard of although Mr. Boatman is now on my screen.
Thanks for posting this and for the personal history, thank you for your service as well.
Regards,
turnerriver

Sorry to be a little late. I think you have a very snazzy rig right there.
