New to me well used Eubanks pioneer leather holster
I ran across this basket weave holster on GB for sale for $25. It says S&W right on the back of it so I couldnt resist. Somebody probably used this holster daily for 20 years but its ready for 20 more. They dont make stuff to last like this anymore. Just wanted to share a couple pics of my first ever holster purchase!

NICE.
I have this plain, little, rawhide laced one for a 2" J-frame.
Excellent quality, no doubt.

You did well for your first holster. Royal Eubanks started Eubanks Leather
in Boise in 1939. He sold to Pioneer Tent & Awning in 1949 with a 5 year
agreement to not compete. So your holster would have been made after
1949.
After the 5 year non-compete agreement expired, Royal went back into
the holster business as Idaho Leather.
Eubanks, Eubanks Pioneer, and/or Idaho Leather are all collectible quality
holsters, and the prices have not gone through the roof like some of the
other brands.

Here, below left to right:
Eubanks original model 87 made for K22, shown with my model 10.
Eubanks Pioneer model 87 with my Colt's Agent. It needed re-laced,
so blame crazyphil for the sub-professional job, not Eubanks Pioneer.
Idaho Leather, made for a Ruger as -db- pointed out to me, but the
Colt fits too. Sorry, this one would not upload. I will shoot it again
and post it as an edit later. OK it is now 4th from left.
3rd from left is by the Pioneer Company. They did have leather goods
before buying Eubanks, but I think they also stopped using his name
after he went back in business as Idaho Leather. So I don't know if
the Pioneer Company holster is before or after.

Nice one. I really like Eubanks and have several set back. Great value in vintage holsters.

Thanks to the generosity of a fellow forum member, I too have one of the nice Eubanks holsters!! They are great, and yours is a nice example. Crazyphil is our Eubanks expert...he lives right up there who here it all happened!!
Best Regards, Les
