Default EUBANKS LEATHER

Royal Eubanks started Eubanks Leather in Boise in 1939.
Here are a couple of samples of his work. They were both
made for K38 with 4" barrel, so of course my Model 10 fits
perfectly.
In 1949 Royal sold Eubanks Leather to the Pioneer Company
with a 5 year agreement to not compete.

Thanks Phil,

I trust that my holster was made by Royal Eubanks between 1939 and 1949.

I'll play. I have one for my J-frames.
It came with the first S&W I ever bought, a little 36 no dash from about 1966.
No idea when the holster was made - other than to say it was after the company was sold to Pioneer Leather.

Probably sometime between 1949 and 1954.

Eubanks 87 . . . marked "38" instead "M&P" like JimGoldth's but a 5" M&P fits like a glove . . would be later or earlier?

Here is my only Eubanks holster. I like it a lot. Can't remember when it was made.

They were stamped Eubanks between 1939 and 1949.
You have a really nice one. Perfect mate for the 2" model 10.
Interesting brand also. Circle flying? Do you know anything
about it?

This one needs a new safety strap, but is otherwise serviceable.

It came to me courtesy of another forum member.

Best Regards, Les

Made by Royal Eubanks for a .32 Automatic sometime between
1939 and 1949. Nice.

Phil,
To me, it is a quality made holster. I really like that it is lined. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about it. When I was bidding on it, I wanted it because I knew it would fit my 2 inch pre-10. I thought the design on the back of the holster was very cool. After posting it on the forum, it was suggested that it might be a brand. It would be awesome if someone recognized it, and I could find out some history on it.

The wavy line on a brand usually means flying and of course
yours is circled. That's not much to go on, and I'm not even
sure that is right. A lot of the states have pictures of brands
on the net with names. If you know what state it came from
that might be a start.

Another thought boykinip: There seems to be quite a few cowboy/rancher types
here on the forum who might be able to shed some light on that, what we think
might be a small version of a livestock brand. More likely to get their attention
with a separate post. Mabe a caption such as BRAND ID HELP WANTED.
I'm curious as you are.

Where does Idaho Leather Co fit in? Or does it? I have one that looks just like these but it is marked for a K22. I also have a matching basketweave western belt with .38 cal loops.

After Royal Eubanks agreement to not compete expired he
went back into business as IDAHO LEATHER in 1954. He
died shortly thereafter. His widow sold to a family friend,
Bud Wetzel. Bud's son Ben Wetzel was operating the business
untill he passed away 2 years ago. Idaho Leather is no more.
But they made a lot of holsters, including yours, between 1954
and 2016.

Old thread I know. But I got this 820 for a MP last weekend. Very high quality leather, as good as Heiser.

I only have one Eubanks holster, and it is from the period right after he sold the company to Pioneer Leather in 1949 and the expiration of the "non competitive" agreement in 1954.

Maybe not a genuine Eubanks holster, but still one of the nicest pieces of gun leather I own.
