"UN-REAL GRIPS"
I only know 3 things about these new (to me) grips.
1. They are quite old as they were made for the M&P.
2. They are "un-real"
3. I like the fit and feel in my hand so I don't care about 1 & 2.
They kinda match up with my old Marbles stag handle Damascus
blade knife. The holster is a Brill with thanks to John Witty. The
belt is by James. The cap is a 65 year old "souvenir".

Hi Phil,
Nice rig! Tell me about the “James” belt; that looks pretty sharp. Is it heavy leather and where can I get one?

Not to butt in, but Gingrich offers a belt just about exactly like that.

ebay...
It isn't very thick but I wear it through the pants belt loops
and it carries the model 10 ok without sagging. I added the
4 piece buckle set.

Grips of that general pattern were offered by Fitz and J. Scott (perhaps others as well) for decades (1950's to 1970's or longer). Typically cast of plastic resins with the stag "bark" pattern cast in during the manufacturing process. Some I have seen display worn-through coloring in the "bark" areas, which seems to indicate a surface-applied colorant (perhaps paint).
Just about any gun magazine of the period will feature display advertising of such grips for the popular revolvers and pistols of the period, usually with other ads for Mershon grips (oversized rubber target grips that later evolved into the popular Pachmayr line) and various grip adapters (Tyler T-Grip and others).
Popularity was boosted by the television western shows of the time (note Matt Dillon's revolver, actually a Great Western (not Colt) with faux stag grips.

Yes Ray, if my memory hasn't totally failed me, I believe
Marshall Dillon had Franzite faux stag grips on his Great
Western revolver.

A little bit of detective work and I found out that the grips I show in
#1 above are by Jay Scott.
