But you sure did hit the jackpot with this Lawrence.
Carved and laced. Everything is beautiful. If I remember
correctly, Lawrence was the only prominent maker that
used the Sheridan style carving. Most used Mexican style.
Here is an example of Heiser's carving. Not as beautiful
as yours, but not too shabby.
And here on the right for comparison is a Lawrence, kinda
similar to yours in that it is carved and laced. In a moment
of temporary insanity I sold it.

That top of the line Lawrence holster was cataloged before and after WW II. Thanks for showing it.

CZU do you happen to have a shot of your new Lawrence, that shows the welt, from the top?
I remember Red Nichols writing that Lawrence was unusual in that he was one of few that laced through a welt.
I just happened to remember I have this Lawrence 34L, which was previously owned by the famous Frank Rizzo, Mayor of Philadelphia.
Maybe you can see here how the lacing goes through the welt.

I have added a few more pics that I think answers your question.
Those are some very nice holsters you have shown, I'd be proud to own any of those despite being RH.

Yep, that last photo you posted shows the lacing going through
the welt. I have done a little lacing and know it is difficult
enough without having to go through a welt too.
A friend of mine, Al at Chisholm's Trail, made me a holster years
ago, with a welt, and he laced it. He said that was the only one
and the last one he would do. Don't need no more holes in his
thumb. Here is a picture with my Model 29 .44 Magnum.
