I’m looking for a comfortable ankle holster as light and slim as possible for a S&W model 36 - 2 inch. Does anyone have any recommendations ?
Thanks in advance for the help.

I've been using a Wilderness Tactical Renegade ankle holster to carry my 642 for about a year now. Very comfortable and stable. The gun is held securely. I've worn it while hiking without a problem. My 642 is an airweight, so I don't know how that would translate to a steel J-frame. And of course, my leg may be different than yours, so that could be another variable. But overall, I think it's a good ankle rig.

Years back I had a custom made to order Bruce Nelson Combat Ankle Holster. I carried my M60 that way for many years and was so happy with it, I ordered a new one as the old one was getting tired. The new one only got used for a short while as I then went to the pocket carry & belt carry methods.

The holster I speak of above is the best ankle holster I have ever found. If you are interested in it - PM me and we can discuss.

I highly recommend the Desantis Ankle Glove Holster. I carry a square butt model 37 (Airweight ) daily. You and no one else even knows it is there.

You can’t go wrong with any of the rigs here. But I have used the Renegade, Apache and the Galco ankle glove. All are super comfortable but the advantage of the Apache and renegade design is that the soft pouch is a bit more Concealable under smaller cuffs since the Galco uses a molded Holster. And the Galco is the most expensive of them, but If you want a Galco you can find them on eBay.

The one I bought off eBay was like new but was missing the retaining strap. But it’s really not needed. When you wrap the band around your leg, it tightens on the gun very well and won’t come without a good tug.
