Old Bucheimer Holster marked Sheriff 32 42
Any advice or history on this old holster. It is black and looks to be crossdraw for a 2 inch J frame or Colt DS I cannot post a pic right now, but will later
Thanks

Here is a picture of my Bucheimer-Clarrk model 32 size 11 which was made
for S&W J Frame. My picture shows it with a Charter Undercover. Size 42
was made for Colt's Detective Special, Cobra and Agent. It is important to
some to distinguish between Bucheimer and Bucheimier-Clark. The model
32 is the latter. If I remember right, and I don't very often any more, Sgt.
Joe Friday carried his Model 10 with 2" barrel, crossdraw in a
Bucheimer-Clark Sheriff model.

My post above didn't seem correct when I was typing it, so I looked it up.
Sgt. Joe Friday carried his S&W Model 10 with 2" barrel in a Lewis holster.
They look a lot like the Sheriff model, but the spring is different if you look
closely. BTW my advice on your size 42 is keep it. They are not making
it any more.

This is a Buchheimer-Clark marked MARSHALL 831-11.
Colt Cobra fits fine.

11 is the size code for J Frame, but that type holster with the spring in it
seems to handle a variety of sizes. I have a Brauer Brothers that will
accept J Frames, Colt Det. Spl., and even snub nosed K Frames.
Here's a picture:

36 is size code for several K frames with 6" barrels. But maybe you meant
the gun is model 36?
