Recently purchased a Roys 38 tan leather cartridge pouch in like new condition never used. Have collected a few pouches from Bianchi, Safariland, Bucheimer also. Even a few years back you had to make an effort to find the pouches at gun shows, LGS and on line. Today a lot more effort is needed to find them. Who knows how many were sold but it looks like they have all gone into hiding. Not unusual to see new production pouches selling in the $40-50 range.

I was watching an old episode of Dragnet and noticed that Sgt. Friday
carried a 2X2 pouch on his belt opposite the holster side. So, I bought
this new one made by Pecchenino Leather. The speed strip is by Bianchi.
The holster by Lewis. The revolver is S&W Model 10-5 with 2" barrel.
Grips by Grasshorn. Knife is a Puma Prince.

Nice equipment phil, wondering if in earlier years the 38 cartridge slide with loops for six rounds was more popular, maybe that's why we don't see all that many pouches.

I have a tan Bianchi pouch and a black basket weave Don Hume. The Bianchi holds 6 rounds in a speed strip quite comfortably. The Hume is taller, but a little narrower, so it will be paired with a 5-shot Tuff Products strip for my .357 SP101.

The Bianchi was part of my normal working kit on the job. Unlike Joe Friday I carried it strong side, since I was trained to hold the revolver cylinder in the palm of my off hand while reloading. It worked well.

Considering the small size and weight no reason not to have spare ammo for a 5-6 shot revolver either on a speed strip, cartridge pouch or looped belt slide.

Crazyphil that may well be the answer why we don't see many of the old 38 cartridge pouches, speedloaders. I have some Bucheimer speedloaders that I believe were introduced in the mid 1970s, there were probably some others before Bucheimer. The small size probably didn't help either making them easy to get lost.

I have an old Jay-Pee pouch, only holds 5 rounds. I think I found it in a box full of Hunter holsters at a GS.
