WHO MADE THIS HOLSTER?
I just nabbed this holster off of an ebay auction yesterday.
Beautifully hand carved depicting the 5 petal wild rose and the
little swirly thing at the bottem. I think it was an attempt at
the Sheridan style.
The holster was shown on the auction site with a Colt OP in it,
so I was pretty sure it will fit my S&W Model 19 Combat Magnum.
So, what's not to like? The only mark on the holster is a very
small E up on the dog ear. That means it was a prop gun at
Ellis Props. They bought their equipment from various sources
and then rented them out to Movie and TV shows.
I would sure like to know who made the holster. If anyone has
any ideas, please share them with me. Probably a long shot,
but we don't know if we don't ask.
I will post more and better pictures when it arrives. Thanks, Phil

The front looks kinda like S. D. Myres, on the Left.
But Myres back don't look like it. 2nd from left.
Back looks more like Heiser. 3rd from left.

Looks like one I picked up from a street vendor in Juarez, in 1983.

One of our holster Gurus, Red Nichols, says it is a copy of Heiser's Model
459. If they were going to copy someone, they could not have chosen a
better one than Heiser to copy.

I liked that holster so much, I opened the bidding on it. Of course, some guy named Phil had to out bid me. I think it is very similar to some other holsters Phil posted some time ago, with the ear over the hammer.

Sorry about that Igiveup. As you can see I really needed that dog ear.
BTW the one on the top row in the center is Heiser's model 459.

I looked at that post that you mentioned John. It sure does deserve the
5 stars, as most of turnerriver's posts do.
