Custom holster for J-frame and I-frame?
Hi, Folks,
I'm looking to buy a very high quality, carved holster for a Model 34 .22
Kit Gun. I am curious to know if anyone has experience with I-frame
pistols such as the Regulation Police, etc. also fitting a J-frame holster
acceptably well? I'm starting to get the bug for a .32 S&W Long....
Many thanks,
John

On the topic of the custom holsters, I would have to say give the folks down at Andrews Custom Leather a call. You can find their contact info after a quick google search. My dad purchased a shoulder holster from him several years ago and it has done nothing but impress us. My dad also ordered a pancake style belt holster from them and he says it is great as well.
I am sure that they could custom fit a holster to fit an i frame.
Secondly, I wanna say that the 32SW L is one of my favorite rounds! I have a model 30-1 snub and I have shot the fire out of it.
I started reloading 32 long last year and it has been a blast.
32Long is nothing to sneeze at either. With its accuracy potential and easy follow up shots, it can be a very handy round.
Any round that is good enough for Frank Sheeran is good enough for me!

I’ve carried I frame revolvers in holsters made for the J frame but not the other way around. As you asked, I have a nice holster made for a model 34 that carries .32 HE revolvers just fine.
Regards,

Outstanding!!
Hi, folks,
Thanks very much for the good information (and "enabling" on the .32 SWL! )
Turnerriver, thanks again, and that's a mighty nice holster! Did you make it, or is it a more vintage one?
Sincerely,
John

I wouldn’t post any holster I might be capable of making, fortunately there aren’t any.
That’s a Lawrence holster made for an airweight Kit Gun.
Regards,

TurnerRiver,
Wow, now that is one of the prettiest carved holsters I have ever seen?

Speaking of pretty, I had this pretty little Heiser. It was probably made
for an I Frame. I thought my J frame looked too big in it, and even the
little vintage Charter Undercover, shown in the photo, looked too big for
it, so in a moment of temporary insanity I sold it.
