Picked up a Safariland Pocket Holster for the S&W M&P Body Guard 380 yesterday @ Rural King for $14.93
The holster is so tight you can barely get the pistol into it
It has a polymer/kydex insert with suede on the outside
I really can't see any way to stretch the holster but blocked it with a thick freezer bag last night
It also just touches the magazine release which could just be Dremeled away
I left a question @ Safariland a while ago & will see what they recommend
Thought maybe even heat from a hair dryer or possibly even boiling it or microwave.
Instructions say to spray silicone which just oiled up the polymer
Anybody ever have one of these holsters? 25-194-21
On the website it shows it should have cost $35
I really wanna get this holster to work as it has minimal bulk & doesn't print much like some others do.
Enjoy & Happy 4th of July Weekend to Everyone!

Hmmm. Easy fix although of course Safariland is the one that's got it wrong and should fix it up for you. Working w/ Kydex vs. leather is simply substituting heat for water to soften the holster pocket. And unlike leather you can use your home oven w/out damaging the holster.

First I recommend you have a pair of cotton gloves for handling a hot holster; cotton doesn't transfer the heat through to your fingers. Heat the holster in your oven; getting the oven too hot won't matter if you're watching what's happening while your holster is in it. Kydex goes limp like a cooked lasagna noodle, then it's ready for you.

Stick your pistol in it and shape the hot holster around your pistol, especially that mag button (or trim that part away first, ideally). The Kydex is cooling while you work with it. Leave the pistol in the holster and when cool enough to handle w/out the gloves, your holster is ready.

Not perfect? You can repeat the process w/out fear.

I have two of them - one for a J frame and 1 for my Kahr CM9. Didn't have an issue with either. The revolver version is the only pocket holster for J-frames that I use. I recommend them whenever the subject comes up.
I think Red gave you the best advice you will get, given his history designing and making holsters. We'd love to hear if you are able to get it working for you, and of course, photos are always welcome!

I will get this holster to work out..
Just needs to be a bit looser..
After blocking if it doesn't loosen up I will bake it & stretch it slightly
No reply from Safariland or Smith & Wesson today..

Got a reply from SAW yesterday about the recall of the 380EZ

Nothing yet from Safariland.. I guess that I bought a $35 holster for $15 @ Rural King..

I removed the three stitches by the D in Safariland in the 1st pic & now the Bodyguard fits correctly with just a snatch it'll come loose..
The suede on the outside clings nicely in the pocket too..
I'll get a photo up in a while, It's down in the basement currently..
I just cut the three stitches with a scalpel blade & removed them with hemostats.. I also dremeled the area around the magazine release to clear the possibility of dropping the magazine while in the holster..
Love how the holster stays open even though I always put the holster on the pistol & then put the whole thing in my pocket = Never try an reholster a pocket gun..
Now I wonder if there is a difference between the S&W Bodyguard & the M&P Bodyguard? Maybe the sights or slide taper..
