Default Another Brill

I was recently able to add another 5" N frame Brill to the stable. The one I already had was pristine and I didn't feel comfortable using it. This one is still nice but has had obvious use so I don't mind carrying it on occasion. Shown here with a M1917 Commercial, it was all I had handy at the time.

Nice one, Bruce. I was watching that one and hoped someone here got it. That was another early, thin welt one wasn't it?

Like a moth to a flame, the phrase Brill Holster appears and here I am! Yes it is an early with the single welt, by Charles Kluge for Brill. W/out the Brill mark it would've been a Kluge scabbard. Many clues in the images tell us the 5Ws of this one. Well done! Incredibly light and dainty, aren't they? It was a concealment holster for pants belts and not for the trail and the wide belts.

Larry,
Yes, as Red has said, early thin welt. It was also said to be for a Colt Government, but I had a hunch it was for a N frame.

Bruce

No hunches needed :-). We've proven on these pages that the old school scabbards for DA revolver LOOK like they are for the 1911 to a modern seller; but all early holsters for 1911s were constructed very differently from those for the revolvers. Also looks like I deleted all my 'this pistol does not belong in this holster' images. This is prolly your pic :-)
